Choosing a career

police departments like to hire people with anything other then a criminal justice degree i heard).
Because police work involves lots of paperwork. And the more educated you are, the more likely you’ll be bored and decide to quit law enforcement. But you can make detective faster with a bachelors degree as I understand it.

May not be realistic to suggest becoming an engineer or CS major because not everyone is cut out for that.

RN coursework is not the absolute easiest, but it’s not that hard. If you have any interest at all in this, it would be something to explore. Nothing else like it. You’re guaranteed a high salary and can work pretty much anywhere. Most hospital nurses here in the Bay Area are making $130k at least if they’re working full time. I’ve met a few prison nurses who sleep and sit on their asses putting in overtime hours and making $200-300k+.

If you’ve got some connections to real estate, do some business coursework in construction management, project management training (you can get pmi certification for free through your public library in many cases) and work some basic construction labor on the side. Come out of college with the skills the be a general contractor.

A lot of real estate purchases are for renovation/repair, so you could piggy back on your real estate connections, get some jobs. If you’re not a criminal you’ll get referrals quickly. In time, get enough cash on hand to buy and renovate properties between outside funded jobs. If all else fails, you can get a decent wage for labor or get hired on as a manager for somebody else and collect regular wages.

Since doing some research over the years. And since some of my fam like mechanics and i do like cars. My dad does real estate and im a realist so ik making money in real estate is not easy, and because i got friends who worked for the airport and they are aircraft mechanics.

So i have narrowed shit down in my potential interest to:
Real estate
Auto mechanics
Aircraft mechanics
Criminal justice

So heres another thing i dont want to spend 3-4 years studying. I got fights to train for and more fights after the 2 next month. And i got other shit to worry bout.
. No real money in real state or auto mechanics. Unless you are happy with an under $50K salary and are good.
. You have to go to school and get a diploma or be certified, period.
. Hard to have a solid career and 'fight' at the same time. Fighting is for kids, poor investment. There is no money in it and you have to deal with all the injuries. Again, less than $50K a year unless you are good, and only 10% are good. You are probably not in the top 10%. Plus, you can only 'fight' for a limited number of years.
. I would stick to aircraft mechanics (Aerospace Industry) or criminal justice. Over $50K a year.
. Don't want to sound like a jerk, but it does not seem like you have the patience, ambition, or smarts for either of the two listed above. You don't sound very mature.

It sounds like mechanics is the way to go! :)
Whether cars or airplanes, I suggest you dive in and learn as much as you possibly can!!
There is no substitute for learning and improving upon a useful skill!!
Listen to this guy ts, he knows what’s up

That last part is completely false and you know it lol.

Most police departments are a little over 50k no more then 60. But i have done my research a bit over the years cali and the south have the most salary.

@sweetviolenturg i didnt say i was not taking that offer but i do have a conflict of interest basically thats why im asking.

Mechanics i guess would be better but idk. I would be more interested in aircraft mechanics since better pay and sometimes you get to travel (not all of the time)

I will respond to everybody later.

Can I ask what type of medical career you're in? Because you're always so spot on with everything & the only other person that I know of like that is my wife. And she's a medical savant. She really should have gone to med school & specialized in becoming a diagnostician but her heart is in counseling & treating girls/women with EDs. So she got her Masters & became licensed by CALPCC. She's also a registered dietician. All of which she uses here at her new job as a counselor here in Arizona at one of the most exclusive ED treatment centers in the Southwest.
So, if you're hanging with her as far as your medical knowledge, you've got to be damn good at what you do, bro. Just thought I'd say so.
And LOL at RN coursework not being "that hard". I dated my fair share of nursing students back in my day & the coursework sure was tough for them. Maybe not for folks like my wife & you but for most others, it's tough from what I've seen.
Anyhow, keep up the good work, man. Peace.

Well, that's cool.
As I said, I wasn't trying to come down on you. I just wanted you to know that you can take advantage of both opportunities, both school & boxing if you want to.
Care to share what the conflict of interest is? If it has to do with boxing maybe I can help with some advice.
Take care.

My dad offered to pay for college/trade school for me again. Although idk what i want to do?

Since doing some research over the years. And since some of my fam like mechanics and i do like cars. My dad does real estate and im a realist so ik making money in real estate is not easy.

And because i got friends who worked for the airport and they are aircraft mechanics (i was doing some security for the airport in 2017 and i escorted some mechanics that came from other countries to help)

So i have narrowed shit down in my potential interest to:
Real estate
Auto mechanics
Aircraft mechanics
Criminal justice (since at some point i want to be a cop but doing research on that it really doesnt matter the degree in fact police departments like to hire people with anything other then a criminal justice degree i heard).

So heres another thing i dont want to spend 3-4 years studying. I got fights to train for. And more fights after the 2 next month. And i got other shit to worry bout.

So plz no comments on my impatience whatever i dont care for them. Nor will i respond to them.
If you have good knowledge with computers and you’re a nerd. Look into Coding Bootcamps. Im in the same position looking for a new career. I’m planning on going to Dev Mountain sometime later this year. It’s 12 weeks and your housing is covered. You just have to pay tuition up front. Coding is a really high demand job right now. And there are Coding Bpotcamps all over the country that are 12 to 16 weeks. They have high job placement and some even have a job guarantee on your tuition.

you should dedicate yourself more to sherdog. plus side it you're already hired.

you'll get all the dudes in no time.

It comes down to a simple choice if you want to enjoy your life.

You can either: A) Do something you enjoy so even if you aren't making a fortune you can at least get some fulfilment from your career.

Or: B) Do what you have to that makes you the most money so you don't have to waste the majority of your life being miserable.

Your description doesn't indicate that you'll be doing something that you'll find both fulfilling and rewarding in and of itself so i'd advise you to make as much money as you can as fast as you can. Your career shouldn't be your life, especially if it isn't something that you aren't passionate about. The best career advice I ever got came from my grandfather. He said, "Work so you can live the life you want, don't live just to work.". Considering he spent 47 years working a dead end job just so he could support his family, i'd be foolish not to take his advice and avoid the mistakes he made.

Well, that's cool.

It has nothing to do with boxing. Its just that when i was in college for 2 weeks before i had to drop out because my got towed. They put a class i didnt even need on my shit and language arts that i didnt even need because i was trying to study criminal justice, but the actual criminal justice course would not have started until fall semester.

So thats why i've been looking into trades and real estate. Being a mechanic sounds good. Being an aircraft mechanic sounds better i always did like working for the airport too. And real estate is something i thought about doing because property that i own could be helpful for both me and other people looking to set up a gym or whatever.

Aircraft mechanics or auto mechanics might be bettet for now. Im not really interested in medical shit right now i thought bout being a paramedic but then i thought nah i got to be realistic.

Join the military. Fight for freedom and democracy.

Ya military is not really a career nowadays ppl join the military to help get a jumpstart on what they want to do after. Not a lot of ppl stay past 1 contract and if they do most of the time they get discharged or end up leaving at some point.

Why don't you just take a few general college courses at the local community college or online through an accredited college until you figure out what you want to do? This would give you a start on a possible degree.

The military is another option if you want to be an aircraft mechanic.

in my area most of the local county police departments require 60 credit hours. I guess it depends on where you live, but in the DC area cops get paid pretty good.

Yeah, I'd steer clear of the medical fields as they require a lot of intense studying that takes time & effort that you might not want to put toward it right now.
So, what's going on with boxing?
How long have you been training? Have you had any sanctioned bouts yet? If so, what weight class?

That last part is completely false and you know it lol.
No, I don’t. What I do know is that, the n most government work, having a certain amount of schooling can be substituted for some amount of work experience. So you qualify for higher positions sooner than those who don’t have a higher education. Especially if your education was in a field closely aligned with your line of work. I believe many police departments work the same way when it comes to the detective position.

Agreed! That is definitely an option. I think the military is great for young people who haven’t decided what they want to do.
