If he wants the bigger purses and to headline main events he should prove his P4P worth and move up two weight classes to face Rigo at 118. That's a guaranteed HBO headliner. That's if he wants to be great though...

Yes because Rigo is going to sell a PPV and get him a big purse? Because hes such a big draw?

This is your worst thread yet and Im a Rigo fan.

I really don't get all these people saying "oh, Chocolatito has to face RIGO to prove himself." Pure stupidity. Why is it Chocolatito is the only guy people EXPECT to go up to prove himself? He's already done that in three divisions, and he has arguably the deepest division in boxing to prove himself.

If Rigo/Chocolatito can be worked out down the line, then fine, but Chocoaltito has a lot of work to do in between.

Thing is, Rigo isn't worth SHIT.
I like the guy, but I'm a hardcore boxing fan. The average dude does not give a fig for Rigondeaux.

Go after that Japanese yen.

rigo/chocolatito would do fine in Japan I bet, but there are better options for both in Japan.

Boxrec wont even recognize Chocolatito as a Top 25 p4p boxer

I never said anything about PPV's...

I'm just responding to what Chocolatito said. He said after Saturday he wants to headline HBO cards and he wants bigger purses... the only way he's going to do that is if he moves up and faces Rigo.

There is no one in his weight class that people are going to tune in to watch him fight.

So you want him to jump up two weight classes after only just climbing into his third division recently? You then expect him to jump two more, to face a guy that's not even fighting at 118 but is champ at 122? You think that's all that's going to make him great? He's already beaten significantly better opposition (apart from Donaire), over more divisions against more champions than someone like Rigo. He's also got great fights lined up for the next few years in the division he's in that'll attract more fans in more fan friendly fights.

Errrrr, except maybe the most well known smaller weight class fighter apart from RG in Juan F. Estrada in one of the most anticipated rematches for the smaller weight classes since Chiquita and Carb.

Rigo is hardly the guy that's going to get HBO salivating to make him a headliner fight and throw money around.

Gonzalez vs Estrada: biggest rematch and biggest fight, full stop, in the lower weight classes. Definite headliner.
Gonzalez vs Inoue: huge fight in Japan between two of the true star talents of the divisions.

Two huge fights that would both be bigger than a Rigo fight.

Rigo vs Chocolatito would do decent ratings

Rigo is done. He has been sucked dry by Caribe, and the guy's career has gone down the drain. Chocolatico has a bright future in front of him and is well managed.

You're just claiming this only because Rigo is cuban right ?

Rigo is not a headliner. Do you realize that?

His last fight didn't do him much good in that department. He looked pretty rusty.

i agree Rigo is not a draw, a matchup with Choco though would garner interest

In cuban23s household there would be interest.
