Based on publised Lancet medical study instead of CCP propaganda outlet. While it seems relatively safe, the SINOVAC vaccine is significantly less effective than Pfizer or Moderna's (90% to 95% effective). Essentially 1 in 5 won't develop antibodies after jab.

That's not the most concerning part. Level of antibodies developed is lower than those who have recovered from COVID-19. That might suggest the vaccine might reduce the severity of the disease, but won't actually keep you from getting infected.

On the plus side, the side effects are lower than other vaccines and it produces immune response more quickly for those that do develop antibodies.

For real though, isn't China's vaccine a more traditional vaccine, instead of mRNA? I'd rather have theirs.

Yep, they use a neutered live virus instead of mRNA.

So China started it and US will finish it. No wonder we won World War II.

I'd rather go with that one. Less effective, but at least that's a time-proven process. I wish mRNA the best, but I don't want to play Guinea Pig, especially not with this stuff being fast tracked. With a traditional vaccine, the only things that can go wrong are:

    1. It doesn't work (so I'm back at square one)
    2. It gives me Covid (not a big deal. I'll live)
    3. It gives me autism (already have it)

With the mRNA virus, the things can go wrong are
    1. It doesn't work
    2. It hijacks my cell-membranes and forces them to create mutate human-Covid dna that replicates across my body until all of my DNA is altered and I become a human-Covid mutant monster.

80-85% is pretty good, specially if its cheaper and easier to distribute than the Pfizer vaccine that requires superfreezing.

Is a side effect being sent to a concentration camp?

Pretty sure "only" 80-85% is bad framing.

That's still a very effective vaccine.

Yeah. Initial hopes were for like 60-70% being the threshold for a vaccine being an effective tool to clamp down on covid. Everything thus far is blowing that out of the water

China is primarily interested in population control so this is probably a plus from the CCP perspective. Some level of enduring threat allow them to justify continued control measures.

80-85% effective? So that actually means 0% effective.

Not taking a vaccine from the country who spread the virus.

The level of immune response from vaccine is also weaker than patients who have recovered from COVID-19. The vaccine will definitely reduce the severity of the disease if you do catch it, but the level of protection might be insufficient to give proper immunity.

Wait, isn't the virus around 80% asymptomatic in infected people?

I don't believe this is true.

Vaccine efficacy varies greatly, but most fall into the 70-80% efficacy.
