The Su-35 is junk and India admitted after working on it it does not work that well. It's a very weak 5th generation fighter much like Japan's 5th generation fighter.

They both have larger engine signatures and inferior radar systems. The difference is Japan was able to deliver that plane within a few years Russia been working on the Su-35 for over a decade. Is a breakdown of its configuration.

    "1 – N035 Irbis-E PESA (Passive Electronically Scanned Array) Radar, a follow-on to the Bars-M.
    2 – No canards
    3 – Rear-looking self-defense radar in shorter tail sting
    4 – AL-37FU/ 117S thrust-vectoring turbofan engines rated at 142-147kN
5 – Extended high-lift devices with large flaperon occupying the full trailing edge of the wing
    6 – L175M Khibiny-M electronic-warfare self-defense system
    7 – Reduced-area empennage
    8 – Larger Air Intakes
9 – New and lighter systems, including quadruple digital fly-by-wire flight-control system.
10- New man-machine interface with fully-glass cockpit with two large LCD screens and helmet mounted display.”

Su35 is no fifth gen and the Japanese fighter is a prototype.

India is junk lol, taking their word on anything is even more junk. That and the Ruskis always sold others the inferior spec versions, id never trust them.

Based on what the near disaster that was the F2 ?

I have no doubt when its all said and done the T50 Suchoi will be the next best aircraft of the 5th gen only behind the Raptor.

i doubt that. ATD-X is probably gonna be better then the T-50. No doubt about that considering Lockheed and few other company's are helping with the design.

Right now its just a flying concept, it will probably go threw some serious changes. Also its Way way smaller then the T-50..

I'm sure ill be good, but better is a hell of a stretch no matter how much "help" they get.

Suchoi has proven its capabilities many times over, the Japanese have not. Lockheed wont be helping them build anything good enough to threaten potential F35 sales, nor would they be allowed to share the best tech US has. Even to an ally like Japan.

we will see, the engines in the Japanese fighter will probably be better. i doubt you will argue that one.

(i might have to do some studying on the XF5)

I don't know about that, they have been pretty successful in launching probes and satellites into space at a fraction of the cost of the West.

Since Russia and India were (are?) working on their 5th gen Pak-FA fighter jointly, wouldn't the Russians sell India the same SU-35 they use or virtually an identical model?? China and Russia have had territorial disputes and China is renowned for copying other peoples' designs while India isn't ' so I'd imagine Russia is much more cautious about selling their too tech to China.

Easier to launch satellites then to make a modern jet engine.

Pakfa is mostly Ruskis using their money. They don't sale anyone the exact model as they use them selves.

India has no Su35's, they have Su30's. Near as advanced but not totally issue is most are actually build by the indian's them selves on licence. So no surprise indian made junk is well junk. Indian Su's also use tech from many nations, its a cluster fuck of Israeli French Russian and home made.
