Chiesa was transported to the hospital Thursday afternoon after suffering multiple cuts as a result of McGregor’s melee inside of the Barclays Center. UFC president Dana White stated that Chiesa was cut “really bad” after McGregor and his team hurled objects at the UFC 223 fighter bus, breaking one window and damaging others in the process.
Fortunately, Chiesa’s injuries are not severe enough to prevent him from competing on Saturday night. The lightweight fighter has been released from the hospital and still intends to fight Anthony Pettis at UFC 223, MMA Fighting’s Ariel Helwani reported.
Chiesa suffered multiple cuts on his face but required no stitches, per Helwani.
