This is not going to be my most well reasoned post but does anyone else find it hypocritical that a guy personally responsible for the deaths of hundreds of thousands and literally destroyed millions of other lives is saying Trump is a threat to our country? Trump is unprofessional and brags a lot. Overall his policies helped the country. Cheney literally sent thousands of our guys to their deaths left tens of thousands of other Americans maimed for life and killed hundred of thousands of Iraqis to. How does he have any room to criticize Trump? Anyone else feel the same way?

In a new campaign ad for his daughter Rep. Liz Cheney, former Vice President Dick Cheney does not mince words about former President Donald Trump, calling him a "coward" and a "threat to our republic."

“In our nation’s 246-year history, there has never been an individual who is a greater threat to our republic than Donald Trump," Cheney, wearing a cowboy hat and looking directly into the camera, says in the ad. "He tried to steal the last election using lies and violence to keep himself in power after the voters had rejected him. He is a coward. A real man wouldn't lie to his supporters."

Make this thread when it's literally Hitler complaining about Trump.

It’s not hypocritical because it’s a completely separate issue. Cheney is a pos. Trump is a selfish power hungry wannabe dictator that tried to hold onto power after his term expired. Both those things are true and require separate criticisms.

What is hypocritical is being pro-republic and giving Trump a free pass on this. You can like his policies and like what he stands for, but the fact is he did threaten the Republic. I assume you guys would not be OK with it if Biden somehow holds onto power despite being voted out. Remember, the shoe can always end up on the other foot.

The Bush administration was a greater threat to world peace than the Trump admin but the latter was a bigger threat to democracy within America by undermining the peaceful transfer of power.

There are lots of Right-wingers who would love for Biden to try to hold power if he lost so they could get their Civil War fantasies on. Biden, however, if he were to run and lose would concede the election in short order just like everyone who lost before him…except for Trump.

Don't forget the Bush administration lost a couple trillion on top of all that.

Well, we all know it greased a shitload of foreign pockets and got siphoned up by the CIA who isn't held accountable to any one or any thing. But, officially, it's still just "unaccounted for."

Republicans sure have short memories

In 2000 and 2004 it was nothing but "get em' Dicky!"

Lol at thinking we're still a republic. We're ruled by banks, defense contractors, insurance companies, pharmaceutical companies, and corrupt politicians. The average citizen has zero say or influence over our government.
