Best wishes to Ben Asren and Little Ben.

Hooper is close to GOAT status and will beat the shit out of Hernandez.

Hooper has really grown a lot since moving up in weight and showcased improved wrestling, cardio, and even some decent offensive striking.

Hernandez should be a good test though - even if his confidence is permanently shook post-Cerrone, he doesn't really get out-wrestled, just gets beat-up by aggressive strikers that can get a bead on his lack of nuance in his entries/set-ups.

Hooper doesn't really fit the bill of the type of fighters that beat Hernandez, so will be interesting to see how things play out if he can't get his takedown game going early.

A few years ago and this would seem like a cakewalk for Hernandez.

Why isn't chase getting a step up in competition? He's a on a 5 fight win streak at LW and keeps being fed low to mid level guys.

Moicano kind of ragdolled him to be honest. I was surprised by that one, although when moicano gets on top he's a monster. Moicano pretty easily beat Chase in a grappling match, too.

I forgot about the Moicano loss.

Strangely enough Moicano doesn't even really have great wrestling from the outside, but if he can get a body-lock on you his clinch wrestling is pretty solid. Also Moicano is a far better striker both offensively and defensively then Hooper, which gives him the ability to set-up more entries since you have to respect the striking game more.

It's a pretty well-booked fight though, Hernandez is kind of a gatekeeper to the semi-elite (i.e. top 15-25), he's got a well-rounded game and is tough/phsyical, just his mentality has shifted after Cerrone broke him.

Because the best win is a boring decision against 47 year old Jim Miller.

All true, but I would like to add - Hernandez isn't improving.

Hooper is clearly still getting better.

IMO we see Hooper continue his trajectory up.

Hernandez was never the same after that Cerrone loss. Too bad, I liked his style in earlier fights.
The dariush upset was honestly a curse for him. It piled on expectations on him in a still developmental point of his career. Rushed him into guys like cerrone to get humbled in a shocking manner when he should have just still been sharpening his game and experience in the mid card.

A loss to *Chase Hooper would be the final reason for Alexander The Great to finally call it quits.

*the perception of the old Chase Hooper, since he is MUCH better now...but that won't matter to Alexander if he loses to him.

I'm picking Chase to win this though.
