The good people at Inverted Gear have generously agreed to sponsor a raffle, in order to raise money to repair the damaged tatame at the VB Team Social Project. The mats are ill-fitting, in very poor condition and are unfit to train on. They pose a risk to the children of Cantagalo and need to be replaced. See for yourself!

The drawing will award a prize package to TWO winners.

The grand prize package consists of TWO Inverted Gear Brazilian Jiu Jitsu kimonos, one Inverted Gear t-shirt, and one Inverted Gear patch.

The second place winner will receive one Inverted Gear Brazilian Jiu Jitsu kimono.

To enter the raffle, send $5 USD via Paypal to [email protected]. With each entry, please include your name, phone number, physical address and your email address. You may purchase an unlimited number of raffle tickets. A physical drawing will take place at the US Grappling Brazilian Jiu Jitsu tournament in Richmond, on Saturday July 25th. Raffle tickets may be purchased in-person at the event as well.

Good luck! If you have any questions, please contact Kenny at [email protected]

Do you have to enter separately? Or if you send like $20 it gives you four entries?

edit: also, what's the goal? How much do you need to raise?

You can send a lump sum, and I will divide it up.

The raffle will consist of physical tickets to be drawn at the US Grappling Richmond event, so I'll be writing out tickets myself for anyone buying tickets online. I will more than likely record the drawing and post it on the site afterwards as well.

What's the fundraising target?

I've set my goals high at $1,000 between the raffle and the t-shirt sales. Hopefully we exceed that, as the social project has many needs. The mats are just a start.

Also keep in mind that a dollar of ours is 3.4 reais, so our money goes a long way in Brazil.

Still really, really good odds of winning this raffle. Grand prize valued at about $350 and second prize at about $160!

Podcasts- I can send you a write up to read on air if you'd like about the project and fundraiser.

Entries are rolling in, but there is still a more than fair chance of winning this thing.

I will have a table at US Grappling's Richmond event, which will have some media about the project (print and video), t-shirts for sale, and raffle tickets available for purchase in person, as well as the drawing itself in late afternoon.

So who won the raffle? Updates?

Jasmine Payne of Richmond, VA won the grand prize. PatrickPallies of NJ won the second prize.
