Do you go into them with the same mindset as you do with an ibjjf comp or naga? That "I'm here to win gold medals" mindset and nothing else.

Win Gold/1st mindset.

What's the point in doing a comp if you don't have that mind set? :P
If a person just wanted to have fun, just go spar with other then haha.

The original purpose of competitions was to test your techniques at full resistance and to improve yourself, not to win shiny things. Kano Jigoro considered competition to be just another method of improving your technique, nothing more - certainly not the focus of the art, as has sadly happened with BJJ and Judo.

I dont get the question.

The fact that your entry fees would benefit a charity cause instead of going to some professional guys pockets should make you compete differently!

This is pretty much what I was thinking. Less than a week until the comp and my mind isn't in a "I'm just gonna walk in and armbar or ankle lock everyone infront of me to first place." I'm more in a "I just wanna go and keep it playful. It's for a good cause anyways, so let's put a show on."

Just enter for the sake of getting some good experience.

a win is just a bonus.
