"Charisma" - just another way to say, "personality"?

    To me it is.

This is in direct response to the Adesyna thread.

So - obviously McGregor reigns supreme here.

Having charisma is having personality - synonymous?

    On Adesyna - charisma?
Well - he tries, and he believe in that in which he tries in; 99% of UFC fighters and successful fighters and general are plain and boring; no charisma, no personality - dull - it seems a pre-requisite to being a fighter - obsessive, routine, dull, don't want to listen them.

So - relative to general population - Adesyna does well.

"Charisma" to me is somewhat/in some instances interchangeable with personality, but leans more towards also including the physical presence that one has.

Not exactly the same. Charisma is more of a deep sort of control through an aura. Its inspires devotion but can also be thought of as a gift from god. Personality is the lesser of the two when talking about what charisma really is.

    1. compelling attractiveness or charm that can inspire devotion in others.
    2. a divinely conferred power or talent.

    No.

Fedor had great charisma, due to his aura and presence.

He didn't have much of a personality.

Being stoic particularly under pressure is actually a very laudable personality trait.

He has a personality, he is just humble and more of an introvert.
To me having no personality means having no pronounced traits, being inconsistent.

I agree that his traits are laudable, but they aren't things that are immediately apparent.

Some might call him wooden or robotic. And as a fellow introvert who relates to Fedor a lot, I can sort of see where they are coming from. I don't see it as a negative though.

Adesanya makes me laugh, you can see at times he's trying to be a fan favorite, then kicks off with the crowd when he thought they were booing him, then realises actually I don't give a fuck what anyone thinks anyway and changes his stance again hahahaa

Sure. But that’s part of his personality.
Being “mysterious” is a part of personality too, and wanting to know more about a person influences their charisma

Charisma of the highest order is nicknamed the "IT Factor" for a reason. Because it's not an easy thing to quantify or describe, it's just an aura and presence some people have that draws people towards them.
