Right now I am training at this place and they only offer classes 3 days a week. And one of the days is straight up conditioning and no grappling so that only leaves 2 days a week of grappling. I don't feel there is any way I can get better when I am only grappling 2 days a week so I came to the conclusion the other day that I need to find a new gym because I want to train at least 5 but they only offer 2. I like the guys I train with and it would be real awkward telling them I am going to train somewhere else. How have you guys gone about this in the past?

BJJ is too much like high school, the gyms are so clicky it is not even funny.

you want to train at another gym ? tell your instructor the truth. shake his hand and leave.

it is that simple..... do whatever you feel is best for your game... period !!!!

when i rolled and competed.. I trained at 3 different gyms at the same time, I got to roll with alot of different people and got different teachings from all the instructors. That is the one thing I still hate about BJJ schools, way to clicky... it feels like I am back in jr high

If you decide to change, then do it.

Tell your instructor and your partners the truth. I just recently jumped from a Carlson Gracie club to a Gracie Barra club, and I was completely honest to everyone, and I left on good terms.

Do whats best for you. Period. Thats the reason you do jiu jitsu - so that you get better.

Just be honest, if they are good people they will understand.. .

hahah funny you should say. I used to train at travis lutters gym, now i train at ndbjj. tonight theres a superfight (a kidna big rivalry) between a brown belt from each place. It was kinda wierd to swich gms (i moved), especialyl when they gyms kinda had a rivalry, but it works out. i still talk to some of them , and when move back it shoudl be the same. only thing is, if they teach in different ways, i had a month off.......there was definetly soem degree of lost technique. i felt like i was starting over in some areas.
