There have been two cut stoppages in the UFC this year. Chiesa/Lauzon was from a knee, and Smith/Eye was from a punch.

I been saying the UFC needs to ban punches for a while now. You know, for more exciting fights.

-Eliminate elbows on the ground. All it really does is cause bad cuts and nobody wants to see a good fight stopped on a cut. This means the fighter on top would have to throw punches instead of short elbows thus allowing the fighter on the bottom to attempt more subs. And who doesnt like a good sub finish.

I'm sick of hearing this unthinking proposal. All that rule change would do is hinder the fighter on bottom even more so than they currently are. They're already prohibited from throwing upkicks, now you want to take away the most effective strike against lay n' pray?
