..now..there are 2 theories..one: change your exercises every time you workout
two: keep following one program for at least 1 month then change the workout routine
...which one is the right one?

neither. Stick with your program until your progress stops. Your program does have planned progression right?

yup, my endurance program is almost over (4/19) and i will start the strength/explosive power program, i wont change it till if feel the BIG difference i should feel out of it

if you have a progression program, your workouts wont be same- weight will go up little each week. if your using other programs then time varies depending on feel and what not

I think that for conditioning it is not a bad idea to mix up your exercises. That is what Glenn Pendlay recommends in his 'reasonable approach to S&C for MMA'.

For a strength programme, I think most people would recommend starting off with a programme that has the main lifts that are best for developing strength, and then stick to that programme for a while. As you slowly improve, you naturally progress to programmes with more variety in the exercises and more variety in set, rep and weight schemes. So the variety takes care of itself.

Depends on the program. For most starting programs like SS, TM, etc, you will not be changing your main exercises all too often (if at all in some cases). Other programs offer a little more flexibility on accessory lifts, and I would pick ones that strengthen your main lifts.

The conjugate method changes main exercises more often, but beginners won't have to change them too often. Some people love this kind of training while others don't like it at all. It is a good program and lots of people get results off of it. Other programs are good too, so just find what works best for you.

You are absolutely certain that those are the ONLY two theories regarding programming for strength training?

Because neither is universally correct. Nope.

There's more theories than that but I see where ur getting at. Neither is correct 100% of the time it depends what u are training for, goals, needs, what program u are on. My program personally my exercises vary from workout to workout but i train movements knee dom. Vert/ horiz. pushes and pulls etc and i switch between uni and bilateral each workout but I also have periodization but that doesn't mean there isn't a place for option 2 its just based on my needs every program is different

aha,i get it now, thx!

ITT: solid advice.

/sarcasm

You haven't specified whether your program is a strength training program or a conditioning program. For conditioning, as Jaunty said above, those things you stated in the OP might be two theories - I'm not sure as I do all my conditioning by ear and don't know much about the subject.

But if you are referring to a strength training program then you should neither switch things up every time you train nor every month. And if this is the case, I am personally offended that you think I can't tell when someone has or hasn't read the god damned FAQ.

Now which is it? Are you referring to conditioning, in which case you might be on to something, or are you referring to strength training in which case you are a trollish fuckwit?
