I currently dont train nor work out because I have had elevated liver enzymes for 2 months now, so Im taking medicine and resting. Despite that I went to gym few times, and work out with less intensity. Now I havent been working out for 2 weeks, but I think Im gonna do some bodyweight (pushups, squats, pullups, planks, some stretching), maybe some swimming too.
But fact is Im not so physical now as I used to be, and I will not be for another 2 months maybe, until my health will be 100 % allright. But I dont know how should I eat to MAINTAIN MUSCLES...because I know a regular person should consume (0,75-1g of protein / kg daily), active person (1-1,5 g/kg) and very active person (1,5-2 g/kg). Ive been trying to consume 1,8-2 g to maintain muscle because they told me, you have to consume same amount of protein as you worked out, eventho o dont workout now, in order to maintain muscles. Its working, Im keeping my weight on.
But I am not sure...if Im not active as much, will not a big part of this protein intake go out from body as waste? I dont want to damage my kidneys and eat more protein then my body needs right now. So please, give me some advice, what do you think? What is your experience or wisdom you could share?
