I am going to say very slim unless PVZ somehow manages to become champ. It seems like the Rousey show, they don't seem to care for promoting any other female fighters besides PVZ. I don't know what Dana's stance is after Rousey loses, but he doesn't seem to give a shit for WMMA outside of Rousey, pretty sure he said the only reason WMMA is here is BECAUSE of Rousey.

Depends on how much the whole selling your gotch thing catches on. If it's successful then WMMA could have a bright future.

The talent pool is increasing and it will be better than it is now.

    %100.

Nobody sells in FLW for years, but it exists.

Besides,Dana is the president of UFC, not MMA. Shutting down Women's divisions in UFC doesn't mean WMMA would stop existing.

I'm not saying stop being a Zuffa shill... but stop being a Zuffa shill.

Everyone said Women's Boxing was gonna be huge in the 90s with several high profile female boxers.

Guess what the stars retired and no one in the world gives a shit about who the champs are in female boxing.

Edit: sure some soccer moms still participate in the sport, but after Rousey no female champ will ever solo a PPV or headline over a male champ.

Nobody gives a shit who the male champs are in boxing. The only stars are almost 40.

Don't think the UFC will get rid of any of the weight classes. Wmma takes up so few slots on cards as it is.

Pretty high, I think. Female boxing declined because they tend to look masculine and unattractive. If decently attractive women hold the belts and do well in fights , I think WMMA has a chance to be even more popular than MMA. Remember, one of the biggest stars (and now hollywood actress) was Gina Carano, and she only fought in the B-Leagues. It could rival tennis in stars, I think.

Without Rousey, the UFC will kill the wmma division... But she will not lose. Imagine what is running thought her opponents mind while fighting: "...damn, if I win, I will be famous for a couple of days, And then I will lose my job. How am I going to feed my family? Will I be homeless? What should I do?"

He said, she is why he started a womens divsion. It would be promotional suicide to dissolve the W135 divsion after Rowdy retires. You cannot even imagine the media shit storm this would create.

Rousey brought alot of fans to MMA. Alot of them are women. The UFC is not going to turn around and shit on those fans just to appease all the Misogynists.

The division will still have fans long after Rowdy is gone.

About the same chances of WMMA existing after Gina Carano.

If they get rid of WUFC cards will be less boring and watered down, pretty sure Dana wanted nothing to do with WUFC, not even when Carano and Cyborg were what WMMA was all about. It's the Rousey show, will probably just go back to Invicta or something after Rousey goes to WWE to make actual money.

They would just replace them with the 176th ranked welterweight from Brazil who gets cut after two fights to make room for the 177th ranked welterweight from Brazil who took the fight on short notice because the 175th ranked welterweight from Brazil was popped for steroids.

    This.

Who knew there will be a Gina Carano in 2004 ?

Who knew there will be a Ronda Rousey in 2009 ?

Who knew Brock will debut MMA in 2005 ?

and dozens of more example like that...

Big names come and go. Always will be like this.
