The most under-talked about guy in the UFC. Super powerful striking that improves every fight to go along with maybe the best BJJ in the sport. The way he destroyed Moose was jaw-dropping to me.. Anyone else think Jacare has a real chance to hold the belt next year? What are your thoughts on him vs the best of the division? It's hard for me to feel confident picking anyone against the guy, even Weidman

    Not good.

    Weidman is superior.

Low. unless Weidman falls to injuries.

Dude is too much of a tank for Jacare.

like 5% I guess? Anything can happen. But Weidman is just much better than him at everything aside from BJJ, which is probably reasonably close.

    I say pretty low.

He still needs to get through Romero and 1st rd. Romero is a handful for any fighter.

If he ends up fighting Weidman, he's going to have a lot of trouble getting him down. he had issues taking down Kennedy and he couldn't keep Rockhold down. Weidman is a FAR superior grappler to those two. It'll be an interesting fight, but at the end of the day I think Weidman wrestling, strength and reach will be too much.

Jacare's BJJ is far superior to Weidmans

Weidman vs Jacare is virtually a pick em fight. I'd probably lean 51%-49% in favour of Weidman purely due to championship experience.

Weidman is like the absolute worst matchup for him.

Weidman will still be champ when 2015 is over.

I think even if he is able to get the belt from Weidman I'm just not seeing any way he gets past Rockhold. Rockhold has that upper echelon wrestling and is simultaneously one of the sickest BJJ fighters in the UFC now.

Very good chance.....he's in his prime now and getting better. He's gonna beat Romero and get the winner of Vitor/Weidman....and he has a great shot to beat both guys.

Weidman was rolling with the best like 5 years ago with only 9 months training and doing very well we really don't know how good he is on the ground nowadays but if the past is an indicater he is someone you don't wanna be on the ground with and someone who would be very hard to sub for even the best at BJJ.

I tend to agree. Jacare is a little long in the tooth and not very good standing.

People will underestimate Weidmans BJJ game. That added with his wrestling will out class Jacare every time.

Weidman gave Galvao everything he could handle, who would almost certainly beat Jacare in a BJJ match today.

Jacare is better, but not by enough in an MMA match to make much of a difference. He is very unlikely to sub or sweep Weidman, and Weidmans got brutal GnP.

Jacare coming off best win of his career. ...stopped a stud and at age 34 looks to genetically evolved. This is a different fighter than the one who got edged by Rockhold. If he has his mind on gapplef#$king u, hes gonna be tough to deal with. The problem is that champ is physically huge and is also a grappling ace.

i think there's a good 25% chance he wins the belt this year.
