i've been calling for saffedeine-pettis since i first saw tarec fight. that seems like a good matchup to me.
If they need a bout before fighting current champs, I'd enjoy the following: Rockhold vs Lombard/Okami winner Cormier vs Mir or Hunt Tarec vs Kampmann, or even Condit/Rory winner, GSP/Diaz loser would be awesome (still want Nate back in the the UFC) Melendez, however, should be put directly against Henderson while 155 sorts itself out again.
Man, I agree and like everything about this post. Rockhold vs Lombard would be thrilling, I'd like to see Cormier vs Mir immediately, or Barnett vs Mir. I also agree with Melendez, although it would be awesome to finally see him and Alvarez fight if they sign Eddie.
maybe I'm not hardcore enough... but Saffiedine isn't even ON the main card worthy so his punches looks so bad no gastank.. oh wait he can kick:icon_twis
Huh? You do realize, of those fighters you mentioned, only Cormier and Melendez have been told they're coming over. Dana tweeted he thought Tarec's leg kicks were brutal last night, but other than that he's never once mentioned he's coming over. Tarec himself has said he's never been offered a contract or heard about anything about coming over. Dana also has said he's never seen Rockhold fight or heard of him, so who knows what's happening with him too Does that mean all of those champs aren't coming over? Who knows. People need to understand that Strikeforce IS NOT BEING MERGED WITH THE UFC. The WEC was merged with the UFC, Strikeforce was closed down. The fighters that the UFC wants have been offered contracts/given fights/told they're coming over. Everybody else are in limbo. Want prove that that they're not being merged? There's 2 female fighters in the UFC. 2 fighters, out of a division full of fighters came over. There was what, 10 fighters on last night's card? So that's 10 fighters out of a whole organization of fighters who were still waiting on knowing whether they were coming over or not. The rest would know by now and would have been offered fights. They weren't. The UFC is taking who they want, they're not merging so not everybody's going to make the cut. I think the champs are safe, but you never know
I don't really view Cormier as a SF HW champion. He won the GP, but he's not the SF HW Champ. As weird and confusing as that is...it's true.
Then it all crashes down And you break your crown And you point your finger But there's no one around Just want one thing Just to play the king But the castle's crumbled And you're left with just a name
