I have a challenge to Trump supporters here. If in 1 1/2 years time, all we have seen is more corporate give aways, tax breaks, and deregulation, without significant gains in trade, and immigration, will you vote the Republicans out in the mid-term?

In other words, will you prove you are different then the normal partisan ideologues, and demand results from your own side, or will you allow this game of scapegoating the other side to continue?

The Republican party has control of the house, senate, and white house. They have no excuse if things do not get done. Be Americans first, and Trump supporters or Republicans second.

I put my money where my mouth is on this issue. The Democratic establishment failed this country, and I turned my back on them. We can not afford to continue to reward failure.

With that said, I hope Trump succeeds, and this thread ends up being pointless.

Who are we supposed to replace them with...Looney leftists and Marxist Democrats? That's the only way to prove were not partisan is to put the treasonous people currently attempting a coup right back into office? No thanks.

Let's just hope Repubs come through.

I feel pretty confident that Trump will do great things for jobs in this country. I think we're already seeing it.

Yes, because if you dont, you reward failure, and the people you elect will know you will vote for them no matter what they do.

In terms of capitalism this is known as moral hazard.

This is stupid. Trump ran on corporate giveaways, regressive tax cuts, deregulation (particularly financial deregulation). You're basically asking Trump voters if they'll abandon him if he does what he said he would and what every Republican candidate wants to do.

I will never cast a vote for this insane asylum called the democratic party. Not unless they do a complete overhaul, purge their ranks, and change their message to something at least somewhat sensible. Right now they are the most disgustingly corrupt people I've ever seen.

If Trump and the repubs don't come through them I'm probably checking from the political process altogether.

I remember when you used to pretend that you had no party.

I still don't have a party but I do support the Trump doctrine and am hoping republicans push it through. The RNC makes me sick but the DNC is 10x worse.

Not voting, in a way punishes failure, so I could accept that.

You're both right. He claimed to be a man of the working people. And that claim was hysterical considering he ran on the things Jack listed.

It was no secret Trump wanted massive tax cuts for the wealthy. The plan he pushed during his campaign are estimated to cost 6.2T over ten years and the majority of those cuts going to the top earners (and virtually non to the bottom earners).

Why pretend or fake your beliefs ?

He believes the left is crazy corrupt and believes the right has more to offer.

Why does it bother you that hes out in the public about the left being terrible, obsolete and in shambles?

"Anti-establishment" in the sense that he had no relevant experience or expertise in anything. But from the primaries all the way through, he was promising huge tax cuts for the rich, deregulation of Wall Street, not to do anything about climate change, more aggressive foreign policy except with regard to defending allies, etc. Remember, he said in one of the debates that wages were too high.

See his response ITT... he still claims to have no party.

Doesn't bother me either way, just pointing out what I see.

Anti-establishment in the sense that he openly goes to war in the media with institutional power.

I think you are both right. He definitely portrayed himself as the type of candidate that you are saying... but the actually economic polices that his campaign had been pushing were what Jack is saying.

ED: Kpt beat me to it
