Many fans think that Dana White is protecting Conor McGregor from being stripped of his title. But Chael Sonnen can't understand why.

Yes for $

Didn't protect him getting brain damage from floyd though so he could make even more $

Don’t give a rats ass about this juice heads opinion

Does a one-legged duck swim in a circle?

i have always figured that they aren't stripping him because if they strip him they cannot hold onto him with the Champions Clause. and if they cannot hold onto him, he may very well go do something else (like his own promotion), and UFC would get no future earnings whatsoever.

maybe that's so far fetched that Chael wouldn't even entertain the notion. i didn't think it was. i thought it was pretty obvious, in fact.

ok, now that i've put it out there, tell me whether i'm crazy or not, sherdoggers.

Conor still has fights left on his contract he needs to fulfill

Chael makes a decent point, although didn’t wme documents say that title fights sell more(which is why they started creating belts)

I don't think that is true
They added divisions because they think WMMA is a moneymaker, they did not add men's belts
Plus two of the three biggest PPV's in MMA were non title & Conor vs Floyd certainly wasn't

Good points.

Just remember reading it somewhere. Could very well be wrong.

I'm sure thats true for most fighters that aren't Conor McGregor

The Diaz fights were the UFC's biggest ever and neither had or needed a title on the line.

...And Shael's point is that even if Conor was stripped...When he come back the title would still be on the line, Conor would just be the contender, not the champion.

If he was protecting Conor he wouldn't let him fight a GOAT boxer with zero ammy/pro experience.

Its all about the moolah.
