Tyson fought legit guys. He avoided some of the best of his era, or postponed the matches until late in his career and lost, but the guys he fought weren't scrubs.

And Rousey's competition is legit, for what the division is capable of producing at this time. But so were the opponents of Royce Gracie and Ken Shamrock. Guys like Keith Hackney and Steve Jennum were legit in their day. Now they're considered ridiculous.

Tyson fought every man who called himself a champion, when he was in his prime. If you had a title around your waist, IBF, WBC, WBO, whatever it was, Tyson was coming after you to fucking kill you. He also weighed less and was shorter than most of the guys he was fighting.

He is, to this day, the last unified HW champion in the sport of boxing. There hasn't been a champion who has unified all the belts since Tyson did it in the 80's! Wtf is Chael talking about!?

This is a good point. The women's division needs time to develop. It's the classic case of having a young sport where one or two players are true pros while the rest are still learning how to play.
 
I wonder how many of Tyson's opponents had head trainers who were their girlfriends, who fought for only three years at that point, and who had a sub 25% finish rate in the organization they fought in.

I would agree with you if not for the fact that people are placing Ronda ahead of guys like Anderson Silva, Fabricio Werdum, TJ Dillashaw, etc on pound for pound lists.

Everything can make relatively sense, for instance, Mighty Mouse is the biggest and most jacked guy there is, when compared to kids. The truth is, Ronda's competition sucks and is billions of light years bellow what Tyson's competition was.
 
This is a typical target for Sonnen, the 40-year-old troll. Public opinion says Tyson didn't fight the toughest competition when compared to other great champions, so let's just call all of them bums to take attention away from Ronda's weak competition.

Bullshit sir, bullshit. Evander Holyfield was the unified champion and so was Lennox Lewis. Tyson did not hold the WBO title.

Also he was heavier than most of the fighters he fight. Just including only up until he lost to Douglas he was heavier in almost twice as many fights.

Even most of the cans Mike Tyson fought were boxing since they were kids or teenagers, had a significant winning record in the amateur circuits, had 6-10+ years as a professional, and were heavy weight boxers (aka dangerous no matter what)

I don't think Tyson fought anyone as bad as Bethe.
