Cerrone vs Pettis, no one seems to be talking about this. Potential FOTY imo, assuming that neither man gets smashed early. Who ya got, how, and why?
Pettis beats Cerrone by decision or TKO. Pettis is too good/tough to be finished and will outstrike Cerrone to a decision.
I haven't seen Pettis fight in awhile. I had Pettis ahead of Cerrone back in the Strikeforce days, but Cerrone has improved a lot while in the UFC. Should be a great and very close fight. Cerrone is a bit bigger, but Pettis is a bit quicker and unpredictable. Both are great fighters and legit contenders.
Anyone can be submitted, Mir/Nog 2 proved that. But that being said I only see it happening if one of them gets rocked first,
Subbing him, huh? That's a new one! If a submission happens, I REALLY don't think it would be Pettis' victory. Interesting that you say that though, cause I was going to say, as a counter to "Cerrone really has no advantages over Pettis..." That Cerrone has a LEGIT submission game... I'm not saying he has better standup necessarily, just submissions, imo. But to each their own, I wont judge yours assuming you wont judge mine. Who has Pettis submitted? Shane Roller, Alex Karalexis... Who has Cerrone submitted? Siver, Horedecki, Krause, Castillo, Njokuani (but if I'm gonna mention Karalexis, to be fair I should also mention a man that beat him known as 9mm aka)Ratcliff and even Kelly. That's just my broken down analyses though. I hope and think you're wrong... But this fight could seriously go either way. It's a pick 'em fight for a reason, folks. Don't count Cerrone out! Vegas is pretty intelligent!
Both fighters have a great submission game but one has been submitted and the other hasn't ever been even threatened by one.
I recall Bendo coming pretty close to hitting an RNC, but it's been a while since I've seen that fight.
It's a great fight, I got to go with Anthony Pettis on this one. I think Anthony Pettis has a little better stand up, and that's where I think the fight will play out.
