CENTCOM intelligence reporting, "cast U.S. efforts in a more positive light" and was more optimistic than other reports from the intelligence community.

"Every time that there was a change it was a change in one direction –- that America was being more successful in defeating ISIS,"

"A combination of organizational process and personnel changes combined at the same time to yield intelligence which was in fact more favorably assessed progress against ISIS," the staffer said. Senior CENTCOM officials told congressional investigators they felt justified in making some of the changes to reports based on their own professional expertise.

"We got heavy pushback from senior leaders," who felt they had the obligation and authority to make the changes, when necessary in their view, the staffer said.

The report also highlighted several instances where public testimony and statements from CENTCOM appeared more positive than events on the ground.

This story isn't going to gain much traction in the media, because they can't blame it on Trump.

I appreciate you breaking the important news stories and developments the War Room HDT consistently ignores.

Thanks man. No problem. Crazy how these scandlas years ago would have meant something. Now it is "more of the same" and glossed over.

Trump eating fried chicken with a knife and fork gets more coverage

Keep everyone distracted with race wars and Trump saying "mean things"

Military leadership is like that. A bunch of yes men.

Anyone else have an opinon about this? Or just more crying about how unfair life has been to Trump.

So ISIS is not going away anytime soon? That is very sad indeed for the poor Yazidis, Kurds, and whoever is left.

If you want some rough maps of the progress against ISIS then here's Iraq/Syria in February.

Here it is today.

Fallujah and Manbij were the two of the four biggest cities they held and they've now lost both of them thanks to US air support as well as Palmyra thanks to the Russians.

Now Libya, this was April

June

Today they only control 2 neighborhoods in Sirte. I would call all of this a fairly downward trend for them and it's only getting worse everyday.

Who the fuck gets their info from centcom reports anyway? We live in the internet age. We have the ability to gather information about key battles in real time from multiple sources.

Progress has been made in both Iraq and Syria. A year ago, they were less than 60 miles from Baghdad. Since then, they've lost Tikrit, Fallujah, Ramadi, Abu Graib, etc which equates to about 50% of the territory they held in Iraq.

In Syria, they've lost about 20% of what they once held. Of the 10 cities they had, they've lost 5 in the last year.

New information:

Former Brigadier General: Obama's Briefer Told CENTCOM Official to Skew Intel on ISIS

"U.S. Army Brigadier Gen. Anthony Tata revealed that a source verified to him that he was directed by an individual from the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, who conducts the president’s daily briefing, to stop producing "products of record" that did not fit the administration's narrative of a defeated Al Qaeda and a non-threatening enemy in ISIS.

Tata said that the president’s briefer told this individual to call him on secure line if he had any intelligence that portrayed ISIS in a stronger light than what the president had characterized to the public, which would not leave a paper trail.

He said that this distortion of intelligence on ISIS essentially led to the U.S. ignoring the growing threat and giving the terror group two years to take root."

Tata explained that since Obama withdrew troops from Iraq, "there's been chaos all over the Middle East." But because the president campaigned on getting out of Iraq, he didn't want to hear anything that countered his narrative that it was the right thing to do.

Obama: 'The World Has Never Been Less Violent'

When the official narrative contradicted the facts on the ground, members of the intelligence community cried foul and there was a meeting to deal with the issue.

Didn't you start a thread about an hour ago about how CNN is a totally untrustworthy source?

But but but Trump is an idiot for getting his foreign policy advice from "the shows" instead of respected professionals in the military and intelligence agencies.. LOL

Actually, that shows how smart he is. These are the same geniuses that got us into Vietnam and Iraq.. And lose wars against 3rd world countries. Fuck their advice. Why would you take advice from proven liars and losers?

It doesn't mean that everything that they report is untrustworthy. It is a case by case situation. This story may turn out to be bogus but that is what research has shown so far. They are looking deeper into the issue. Do a search on "Centcom" and you will come up with other outlets that have reported on this.

CNN didn't purposely edit soundclip and flip the meaning in this case. Way to not have a point.

This is from a congressional report

"U.S. House of Representatives Joint Task Force released their initial findings on the intelligence analysis of the U.S. Military's Central Command (CENTCOM)"
