Agree. I do hate when someome wins with takedowns while taking massive stand up damage.

But in this case, DJ barely won the stand up imo while being controlled.

Close.fight but DJ wasnt active enough standing and got controlled.

He’s not even close. High level NCAA wrestlers translate much better due to folkstyle. Askren is #1 by a fair margin. I’d put Khabib at #2 despite not having an accomplished background in wrestling. Other honorable mentions include Cormier, Jones, Romero, Velasquez, Mendes, Koscheck and I’m sure I’m missing some others. GSP had fantastic takedowns and TDD, but he used almost exclusively Bjj on the mat. Never saw wrestling techniques from him there.

Ed Ruth is probably the most accomplished NCAA wrestler to enter mma, ever. I expect big things from his wrestling.
