Great fight. I thought Cat was going to her KO/TKO'd. But she stuck with it and beat Tate. However, Tate was almost getting TD's at will.


Who doesn't think Rousey will throw her down and sub her in the 1st round?
 
I personally look forward to the initial tie up & ensuing ground war between both Rousey & Zingano. I can definitely understand why most people think that when it hits the floor, Ronda is going to successfully secure her infamous armbar as she is an Olympic Bronze Medalist in Women's Judo.
HOWEVER, Zingano has some seriously underrated jiu jitsu and I can see her beefing up her sub defense and developing a ground war strategy to put up against Rousey. I can't wait !
 
Takedown defense in WMMA is poor in general.
 
She was mostly getting taken down by shots and I don't think i've ever seen Rousey shoot a takedown. She'll have to clinch with her which could be dangerous standing.

Rousey will probably win but Cat is a good wrestler, dangerous striker, and has really solid BJJ and her husband is a great black belt and you can bet she'll be doing her best to study and prepare for Rousey's game. She also doesn't have to worry about Rousey standing as much as she did Tate.
 
Unfortunately, you're right. Rousey should have no trouble with her.
 
Cats got some ridiculous game off her back, its diffenetly going to be hard to get her arm for too long, let alone in a position where she can't either defend or sweep. Plus, Rondas takedowns are more from the clinch, and not straight wrestling, so your dealing with a whole other animal. Regardless, i think it'll be a hell of a fight between those two. Can't Wait!
 
I see this being a fairly comfortable win for Ronda.
 
There's no doubt that she'll be training her TDD like crazy for this fight. She's got a lot of time to improve before her fight since they have so much time off with the whole Ultimate Fighter thing.
 
I think she has a good chance to win personally. She is stronger that Tate and she can strike. She can hurt Ronda in the standup
 
Meisha's TDs and Ronda's TDs are completely different. So the mmath TD comparison doesn't really make sense. I do think Ronda should be rightfully favored though.
 
The only problem is, is that Miesha had that arm bar fairly tight at first. I feel like it will be easier for Ronda to get it, but I could be wrong.
 
Sure Ronda is used to clinch TD's, but she could learn freestyle TD's. She will get her judo throws against Cat easily I think though.



Don't forget that Rousey has time to improve also.

If Ronda gets the same arm bar position that Tate did, it will be over.
 
I am calling it now..... Cat is going to beat Ronda.

Vice versa is true. Miesha's shots and Ronda's judo are noting alike.
 
Cat's no slouch off her back. Her striking, particularly her leg striking, is fairly crisp for WMMA, so I see this matchup being fairly more competitive than Rousey-Tate.
 
Good call, TS - and I agree, Rousey is going to armbar Cat alive.
Still glad Cat won though!
