Case of mistaken identity, undercover cops beat down student.

Sounds like typical police behavior to me. That poor kid looks like he took a serious beating.

Brutal. I hope he sues, wins, and gets a few things changed;

"Hurr durr. You got arrested on a Friday, so we'll keep you locked up until Monday even though we know your innocent" Is completely ridiculous. Wtf, over?

Resisting wrongful arrest should be encouraged, not punished. Law enforcement powers need to be scaled back to a reasonable level where they don't operate under the impression that they're above the law.

Just saw the victim was white. How is this news?

I hope the dude gets paid at least. Unfortunately, nothing is going to happen to the two brave law enforcement officers.

Training beat officers in the initial methods used by a detective would not be too much to expect. Get the suspects info and tell them to stay in town, and you won't have to "get home safe to your family" through a pile of bodies beaten/shot till they look like a sack of assholes.

Hey, the fairer complexion needs moments of relating to the experience of the darker complexions.

Twice a year, max.

He will get a few millions, the cops will continue to work like they do.

Funny how cops forget to do the most basic fucking thing before bullying people: identifying themselves.

I doubt CNN will make a fuss about it.

From the article posted by the OP:

"They were out of control, pounding him," one bystander can be heard saying in the video that still exists. "They were being brutal... we thought they were going to kill him."

and

"It became crystal clear to these officers after King arrived at the hospital that he wasn't the guy they were looking for," Jaicomo told FOX 17 on Tuesday. "And yet they still went ahead and charged him with three serious felonies."

Following the encounter, King was charged with assaulting, resisting and obstructing an officer causing injury, felonious assault and assaulting, resisting, and obstructing an officer. In February 2015, a jury acquitted King of all counts following a lengthy trial, Jaicomo said.

"He could've faced 10 years in prison, they put him through this trial and he never pled; he fought the good fight," Jaicomo said.

King, who was attending GVSU studying computer science at the time of the incident, dropped out amid the ongoing criminal trial and mounting legal fees, his attorney said.

The Bacon Bits should be in prison for assault, with the kid being paid out of a fund set up SPECIFICALLY for this kind of incident, that all pigs pay into. Tax payers should not cover fuck ups by The Pigs. I'm glad this kid stuck to his guns. Of course, that's just my opinion. I could be wrong.

Discuss...

Also, if true about the officer demanding deleting of the video, can that be found as tampering with evidence, witness intimidation or anything like that?

Plus, would it be possible to salvage deleted videos from phone?

video is fake. the guy getting beat is white.

We need like the federalization of the police force or something. Ideally the creation of a new agency to watch-over local police jurisdictions and state police. Such an agency would report to Congress, and the Presidential cabinet.

Far too often do we hear of blatant abuse of power and not to mention the degree of systematic racism. For far too long have backwoods areas and corrupt inner city cops been able to create their own standards.

first, the video is clearly fake. we all know that cops dont beat white people.

second, lol at the ts thinking the cops can get in trouble for cops making people delete the videos. who is going to charge them? cops? lol. all that means now is that the kid will get charged for resisting arrest and the cops will get medals for their bravery.

so you think the federal government should create an agency to overlook local government to make sure they are not crooked? yea, that might work. federal government agencies are as pure as the driven snow

Maybe if whites raised their voices just as much as blacks, then police brutality would actually be tuned down, but you rather take one beating if it means blacks get 10 apparently.

That's what police do. They beat you, shoot your dog, arrest you. Realize they made a mistake and charge you anyway. All fake charges of course. Resisting arrest ect. Cause guess what, if you're poor you're going to take a plea rather than risk 10 years in prison. The police bribe suspects to admit guilt. And it works.

Which is why we need less laws. Police should not be apart of our daily lives as much as possible. End the drug war. Bring back the 4th amendment. Protect the people from the police.
