If every police force was like Dubai's, they'd have to beat back the crowds of recruits. On top of having million-dollar Bugati Veyrons and $350,000 Lamborghini Aventadors as pursuit cars, Reuters said detectives on the Gulf force will soon be using Google Glass. The wearable will help cops identify crooks using facial recognition tied to an online database (while still keeping their gun-hands free). Traffic cops there are already getting Glass, and the tiny emirate has thrown piles of cash at its police force despite a recent recession and relatively low crime rates. Still, looking like a cyborg and driving a Lambo? Eight-year-old boys everywhere definitely approve.

They even have Bugatti Veyrons as patrol cars. Good luck running from the cops on your makeshift motorcycle truck when they're using Google maps to navigate to your hideout with one hand on the steering wheel of a 0-60 in 2.9 second, Nurburgring crushing Italian exotic and the other hand on their... Laser gun?

Does anyone else get the feeling that places like Dubai and Abu Dhabi are trying to damn hard. Like, calm the fuck down. Instead of blowing money on stupid fast cars and golden toilet seats for rich Oil ty****s, take care of the fucking poor.

Crooks don't outrun cops. It's not a drag race. Cops either stop chasing because it's too dangerous, or they can no longer pursue due to the guys driving over/through non-road areas.

If I were a cop in Dubai, I'd ask for some kind of quick off road vehicle.

None of the due process we do here in the States applies in Dubai. I'd imagine their pursuit rules to be a little stranger, like:
Find out if his wife showed skin, stone her.
Find out if he cheated on his wife, stone the mistress. And then stone the wife.
Find out if the driver is a female, stone her.
Chase the car until it pulls over, ask the driver if he's seen any women, find them and stone them for showing skin.

Something like that...
 
what's the point of being wealthy in a land you can get clean drinking water and there are no real trees
 
if you are rich arab male you can basically get away with any crime, because you can just pay your way out, there's no real law enforcement for arab males
