i was reading that if you want a real boost to your protein shake that you should add some carbs?? Do you guys have any suggestions? Are we talking about simple or complex carbs? I already add a banana to every shake for flavor and pottassium. Is that ok? or should i add something else or even drink a carb drink? Keep in mind i wouldn't want to spend anymore money on just carb supplementation. when i alread to have to purchase protein, glutamine, and creatine. Oh yeah.. Would a homemade dextrose kool-aid drink work. Is that the kind of carbs i need? I bought dextrose to make a poor man's cell-tech and purchased some ALA to make it.

The recent PWO article Tap posted by Berardi suggested his intensive studies specifically designed for ATHLETES says a 2:1 ratio of carbs:protein is best.

Use maltodextrin or dextrose. I recommend maltodextrin. Cheap as all hell at Bulk.

Oh, I forgot to mention, I think anything in the 1:1 to 3:1 ratio works. I prefer 3:1, although I've vowed to try this 2:1 once I get over my injuries.
