Can't remember last PPV I ordered. UFC is def. on decline!

Whatever, I'm sticking with it until it's completely gone as long as two men/women train and are willing to face off, I'm willing to watch and critique and I don't even have to know their names to enjoy...

None of my friends who were into MMA since Pride days watch it anymore. Even the hardcore fans can't deny that there is a huge decline in MMA popularity since the golden days. What went wrong is that there are too many weight classes (nobody cares about sub 155 let's get real) and amateurish/laughable WMMA being showed down our throats. We used to have exciting fighters, now it's mostly point fighting with no new stars. Too many cards with no-names and boring fighters. Before we had so many fighters that fans looked forward to watching, nowadays we only have McGregor who is barely active. UFC definitely needs to change things up or they fade into obscurity within the next several years. End of rant.

its like people who liked punk rock. as soon as it got popular they no longer like it.

The next 2 ppvs are fucking awesome. Pity they have way to many events to stack them like that on the regular

People like you and me get replaced by younger people. I don’t order ppv often now because I get my fill with free events and boxing, but I’m pretty sure a lot of teens are becoming fans. MMA will never be mainstream, but it will be fine.

UFC sells for more than any sports franchise in history.....UFC signs 5 year billion dollar deal with ESPN.....

Sherdoggers "UFC will never be mainstream"

Nope. and with the new ESPN deal the ufc is getting more and more mainstream. What's happening is that we are overexposed to a shit product with watered down cards. the ufc only cares in making money out of casuals, even if it means to broadcast 1000 events per year.

The Fox deal sealed it if you ask me. I would rather have one badass card every two months than a bunch of watered down ones every two weeks. They got to be too commercial.

Last time i orderes ppv i live with my parents amd they paid for it. Id never order ppv. I was like 17

On the contrary the UFC is arguably more mainstream than ever before
It's more mainstream than ever but it is declining with the "hardcore" fans, that's why good PPVs without star power don't sell shit anymore and then McGregor does 1+ mil

Same. Started watching from UFC 3 until about 20 more or less. It basically disappeared for a while. I got back into it for UFC 31 and didn't miss a PPV until that wmma bullshit came about.

I won't pay a dime if there is a WMMA fight on the card.

The over abundance of tiny fighters and no-name fighters is also watering down the cards.

Yup.

I don't mind the high-level fights at lower weight classes but when most of the cards are full of #28 ranked midget vs the #43 ranked midget. Who fucking cares. Pretty much just failed horse jockeys fighting each other.

Still order them... Got two stacked PPV coming up. If you aren't down with Cormier - Stipe .. then you should just change to another sport.

The UFC is more akin to a league, how much you think the NBA, NFL, MLB leagues are worth?
ESPN has lost at least 20% of its viewers since 2014 and saw revenue from Sportscenter decline from $405 million June 2015 to June 2016, to $304 million the same period in 2017.
They lost 500,000 subscribers last month alone.
They just let their boss go for being a cokehead.
Good luck.
By the way, there’s literally no coverage of last nights card in ESPNs main page.
Again, good luck.

Use to be a lot of specialist and real deal killers. Now, any C-level dork with neck tats and soccer moms with 3 months jits training and a boob job can be in the UFC.

Just sold the T.V rights for a BILLION dollars. Definitely dying.

Also, says no one cares about anything under 155, then talks about how big a draw Conor is in the next sentence. Smart.

I don't even understand how people are disagreeing with this post. UFC 224 was mostly garbage and there have been some PPV cards that weren't even free TV worthy honestly. I hate the PPVs in Brazil. They always feature a bunch of old Brazilian guys for the locals and I don't understand it.
