1. Instant rematches should only happen when the first fight was unbelieveably close/controversial. Eg GSP-Hendricks, Jones-Gus etc. But there was nothing controversial about this fight: Hendricks beat Lawler 3 rounds to 2. Lawler had his fair shot and got defeated. And not even Gus got an instant rematch.

2. Instant rematches should only happen when there are no other viable contenders. But no division is as stacked and vivid as WW. Rory, T-Wood, Hector... there are countless good contenders for the belt. Why should Robbie leapfrog them. He already had his chance.

This dude has no idea what an "Instant rematch is"

Robbie will have to fight twice before getting a rematch.

Huh?? Robbie is scheduled to fight Brown for the shot. And it wasn't instant because he also had to fight Jake Ellenberger.

If Hendricks wasn't hurt he would probably be fighting Twood or Rory in the next few months.

And Robbie beat Rory, thats why he should leap frog him.

I think it's because Matt Brown's best chance of getting a title shot is beating Lawler (Woodley and Rory would be tougher fights for him)

your vocabulary game is weaker than Dana White's integrity.

Yes. And as a reward he got the title shot. Otherwise Rory would have gotten it. But Robbie lost - should he still get title shots forever rather than Rory because he once beat him?

3. Instant rematches don't involve fighter B winning two more top 10 fights prior before the rematch.

Yes. But instant rematches involve the champ not defending against anybody else in the meantime. Ie instant rematches involve holding up an entire division and other deserving contenders from their shot.

Since when is fighting 2 fights before a rematch = instant rematch?

Hendricks is injured.

Lawler v. Hendricks was a close fight. Lawler needs to win another (ie. two fights) before he gets another shot. Brown has become a fan favorite and is on a 7 or 8 fight win-streak.

Rory has good days and bad. He went through a period where he stopped being exciting, but seems to be back on top. Woodley still needs to prove himself as the fight against Condit didn't end in the cleanest way. Winner of this fight getting a title fight hinders on how they fight.

Lawler beat the shit out of him though. Johny just got takedowns. I don't disagree that Hendricks won but jesus Lawler beat his ass.

You don't need to understand or speak English to have logical thought. He will have fought twice if he gets a rematch and Hendricks just had elbow surgery.

People get hung up on "instant"... yet, why not give any of the other contenders his shot? Robbie just had a shot. From the perspective of the title/of Hendricks it is instant.

Idiot, look up instant.

Lawler has already FUCKING FOUGHT.

No, idiot, instant rematch means they both fucking fight each other straight again without fighting anybody else.

Here comes a guy who did not even watch the fight. Just basing everything on what he's heard. You are bad even at that.

Go watch the fight first Kiddo before you ride Lawler's dick that hard.
