You don't have to dislike him to be disappointed with this decision. I haven't heard any experts dismiss the hair test so that corroborates his story but the damage from failing the original test is done. The only real way to avoid suspicion would be 365 day a year random testing. This sounds like their trying to pressure Golovkins camp into signing sooner rather than later, and are using testing as a carrot. Sign the contract sooner, and Canelo has to start testing sooner (and the implications that come along with that). But it definitely doesn't help his image.
Canelo needs to voluntarily submit himself for 24/7/365 testing if he wants to get his credibility back in the eyes of a lot of fans. He's got to understand that, even though he submitted to the additional hair test which corroborates his story, he opened a door that isn't easily closed by testing positive in the first place.
There will always be some people who don't like him and will hold it against him, but he can get a lot of favor back by voluntarily putting himself through the paces.
Yeah, love or hate him, Canelo is doing himself absolutely no favors with the way he's handled this situation. I always liked the guy but he just comes off like a self entitled asswipe with this kind of behavior.
No disrespect to Canelo fans, I didn't even mention his new nickname, I really do admire his heart and skills. But the dude is acting like a diva cunt rn, and it's unbecoming to say the least. I am disappoint.

It doesn't bother me so much because I don't expect these guys to be anything other than fighters. But he definitely has a "I'm going to do it my way and fuck you if you don't like it" attitude. Which kind of sucks when you're a fan of the sport who just wants to see a little accountability. But it's probably not the worst attitude for a prizefighter to have.
It kind of keeps us thinking that he's a cheat though, too. We probably should expect these guys to not cheat brazenly without significant repercussion.
Like you've basically said already, their lleverage then could be summed up as "hey, make a deal with us sooner and we won't be cheating for as long as if you make a deal with us later!" which feels really skeevy and grossPartially, yeah. I think there's just as much reason to say they're doing it for leverage in negotiations. Given how the first fight played out, Golovkin's team has a bit more weight at the negotiating table. The longer negotiations get drawn out, the more the terms will favor Golovkin because he's the one who got the short end the first time around - he's the only one with room to improve his position. So I think GB would be using whatever tactic they could expedite the process. But does it help his story regarding PED use? Christ, not at all.
this is beyond fucked up.https://www.boxingscene.com/forums/showthread.php?t=781491
Austin Trout's experience with Oscar and Ginger.
Meh, everyone is just looking for excuses as to why they lost.this is beyond fucked up.

I agree also the test should be mutual in terms of both boxers get testedPass the hair test and people are mad because he's not going out of his way to prove himself to u.
If you want the tests, sign the contract and stop looking for a way to avoid Canelo.
GGGs camp isn't too confident in the rematch. Anything to really avoid Canelo at least until May is what they wantI agree also the test should be mutual in terms of both boxers get tested
It's an obvious negotiation tactic
Sad but true. Fight should get done but sadly GGG doesnt hold mich2 leverage
I am curious if there will be leaked e-mails
so you don't think it's fucked that they refused testing, then brought up money as a sticking point for VADA, but when the fees were removed they suddenly had not problem with USADA doing it? or the fact that canelo could tell USADA to fuck off?Meh, everyone is just looking for excuses as to why they lost.
the fuck? GGG is enrolled in VADA year round testing. canelo isn't.I agree also the test should be mutual in terms of both boxers get tested

Not really. You don't go demanding shit after the fight has already been negotiated and signed.so you don't think it's fucked that they refused testing, then brought up money as a sticking point for VADA, but when the fees were removed they suddenly had not problem with USADA doing it? or the fact that canelo could tell USADA to fuck off?
how are you not upset your favorite guy is avoiding testing after pissing hot?
