    Who? Alvarez?

How do we know canelo hits harder? Because he knocked out liam smith at 154?

    Oh ward

Is ward pillow fisted? Or just didn’t take a ton of chances in his career for stoppages

If Kovalev for 1 fight can be like he was Pre Ward battles . I cannot See Canelo even making it close.

As is Canelo is moving up a TON an hes an average to even small MW. power doesnt always transfer up and Canelo isnt near the level Boxer Ward was as Ward was Mayweather level with his boxing.

Vs current kovalev I got Kovalev still as it's a big weight jump and Kovalev is world class fighter.

Kovalev is an old drunk. The Yarde fight showed this. I wouldn't mind seeing Kovalev win because he was definitely avoided by Adonis and/or his people. Kovalev, yeara ago, would routinely go to the opponent's home turf and fight them there. A fighter gives up a lot doing that, which is why diva A sides whine about venue (like only fighting in Vegas as a "world" champ).

Hopefully Kovalev gets money from this, but even if he wins, he will have to win twice. And twice by KO (even then, he may lose the decision to Canelo).

Not arguing as much as it is asking.
Ward is a certainly a below average puncher.

Yeah, I’ve reasoned myself into liking this line a lot. Will probably end up with 10-20k on Kovalev by the end if the trend continues. If anyone wants to still take the early lines while they are in the +350-400 range now is the time, I’ll probably wait a bit longer til more books get it up, and start max betting some of the UK ones. Since even pinnacle will start with 500$ limits for it. Haven’t had a relatively big boxing bet in a while but think this is worth the stab.

Of course, could be wrong and some crazy person will put up 500k on Canelo at 1/5 on matchbook (where it's not even up yet) closer to the fight but I think it ends in the ~+200 Kovalev range, which is still a good bet imo.

His stats says he was a pillow puncher bro. It is what it is. Don’t make excuses for your boy. The stats say his record is 32-0 with only 16 stoppages, 16

Kovalev seems to be treated like an ATG. with his only notable wins being vs canadian based fighters

Hopkins winning at his age was impressive but beating him really wasn't.

    Hmm. I dunno about that.

If we are doing it by resume hopkins is probably one of the 30ish best fighters ever

I get your point that he was super old but he was coming off a wins over cloud, pascal and someone else who I can’t remember before kovalev and had two titles

I haven't read thru the thread yet but I'm assuming I'm not the first to mention how badly Canelo will expose Kov's, let's say, "distaste" for body shots. That hook to the body es muy mantequilla amirite @nastyleft ?

So what is your overall point?

That he was not an atg

Or that beating him at that point wasn’t special?
