Canelo gonna murder Kovalev to the body and stop him, possible in 6
Canelo got this. Hopefully after this win Canelo will be undisputed P4P #1.
If it's a LHW bout, Canelo will still break him down to the body fairly easily, I'd think. If there is any catch-weight or re-hydration BS, then it's not really saying much for Canelo, IMO.
On a positive note, he can really beef up at the taco stand over the next month or so.
eh, come on. He's moving up 2 weight classes and he's no giant at 160. No one is forcing Kovalev to take this fight.
Easy win for Canelo, but there’s always the possibility kovalev isn’t completely shot to keep it interesting for a few rounds.
I’m sure the WBC can create a new made up belt for him too
Canelo takes this, and it’s quite an achievement.
I don’t think canelo just runs him over
if canelo hammers kova in the bladder and peen, he can earn a ward-style stoppage
I don't think anyone will be undisputed p4p
And Kovalev is absolutely toasted....2 years ago Yarde would have been hospitalized, violently, inside probably 7 or 8 rounds.
Canelo will retire him. In under 15 minutes of ring time.
I like canelo, but kovalev is still dangerous and bigger than canelo. Could be a tough fight.
I do think canelo could do work to the body.
Canelo can be an in-shape 175 in the ring easy, I'd guess. And he will break him down to the body at 175 easy, too. Even tho Kovalev might be heavier. Kovalev is old and certainly can't be expected to fight at a catch-weight. And I maintain that since it's young prime versus headed out to pasture, that a re-hydration clause would also be weak sauce on Canelo's part. Everyone now knows Kovalev is an alcoholic who can be badly hurt and stopped due to body work. Canelo is known for his vicious body attack. If Kovalev doesn't KO him early, he's going to be stopped himself. Early and downstairs. Or even upstairs opened by the body work lowering Kovalev's hands, IMO. He stops Kovalev one way or the other inside 10. I'd wager that.
Kovalev is going to get wrecked.
If its at the 175lb limit and Canelo walks right thru Kovalev and looks good in doing it, we got ourselves one of the most exciting divisions in modern history.
I not sure how I feel about this fight. I respect the weight jump and with great champ but Kova hadn't been great for a while and might just be a name at this point. He won his last fight and look ok but his troubles outaide the ring with no trainer and being accuse of this or that. Just seems like he is on his way out.
If Canelo wins, what are the chances Ward unretires for a shitload of moolah?
edit- Even if Kova wins maybe Ward unretires for a trilogy?
Canelo takes this, then goes to SMW and beats the shit out of Smith.
With his performance-enhancers, Canelo should have this. The blueprint to beat Kovalev has been laid. Canelo wouldn't take this fight two weight classes if he didn't think the styles fit his way.
Let's see what happens though.
Kovalev, Cotto, GGG, Jacobs, Lara, Chavez Jr, Mosely, Khan, Trout, all before he turns 30?
Separate names with a comma.
