News Canelo vs Berlanga September 14th PBC PRIME Video PPV

Berlanga will shock the world.
He isn't stylistically easy match up for Canelo like everyone thinks.

In the past, Canelo has only struggled with quick boxer-movers like Lara, Floyd and Bivol.
Berlanga moves only in a straight line and doesn't have quick hands or feet.
He also gets frustrated easily when his approach doesn't work. not to mention his competition so far has not been great.
What do you see Berlanga doing that Canelo will have a problem with?

Dude moves in straight forward and leaves himself open. Easy counters for Canelo.

It is a twofer for Oscar De La Hoya he gets to suck-up to Turki Alalshikh, and shit on Canelo. If they honor Canelo during the fights hope they pan to Oscar would love to see his face.

Mexico vs Puerto Rico always give good fights.

Bivol also didn't move side to side too much against Canelo but outbox him on range control and quick in n out movement. If Berlanga wants to give threaten on Canelo, he has to get out of the pocket every time and don't overextend via punches...

Lead hand control, drop steps, clinch, retreat punches etc...

Bivol is 100000 times the boxer that Berlanga will ever be. he also has much better reach and has a much better resume, with a lot of amateur experience.
Berlanga arguably lost to Steve Rolls. he also bit a dude when he thought he was losing a fight. there is no comparison. his feet are flat and slow, he does not have the bounce or athleticism of Bivol.

We are talking about the principles that are necessary to defeat Canelo, those that were moving side to side have gone badly. Of course, Bivol is my favorite boxer and none can replicate his style, the point is to take some tools that can help him threaten Canelo.
