How would this hypothetical match go in a muay thai match in the octagon with mma gloves????

Boxers have a puncher's chance, that's about it. Leg kicked to death 99/100 times. Gets F'd in the clinch as well (depending on rules used).

GGG would put his back to the cage and take his chin like candy from a baby. He could get opportunities to kick canelo a lot though, that would be interesting.

Should be the Co main of Mayweather/Conor.Muay Thai rules

99 times out of 100 is a massive exaggeration. This would be more in the 60/40 range. Never has a boxer even half as good as current GGG fought a kickboxer. And we are talking Barboza. Not a champion or elite kickboxer. Barboza also has a shocking chin. Imagine if GGG landed.

I can see GGG walking him down and landing a right hand lead/left hook combo!!!!
Canelo would get smashed, hes a lil bit gunshy!

Probably the worst thread in Sherdog history.

How about if they had a shin kicking contest, Chinese checkers, jacks or some other contrived retard scenario.

You don't need to be a champion kickboxer to keep a pro boxer at bay with legs. A boxer has no defense for leg kicks and Barboza is known for it. How elite the boxer is is largely irrelevant, the most elite boxer would still be a complete amateur in that regard. Their mobility would be quickly diminished and they will be easy pickings. Maybe 99/100 is an exaggeration but it's definitely not 60/40. 9/10 or 4/5 at least.

Golovkin would literally have to touch him with a jab and Barboza would be violently convulsing on the canvas.

I would love to see GGG fight a good apponent, he does look good crushing cans. I have looked just as good beating up drunks at nearby bar parking lots!!!

Only interesting because Barboza has holes in his boxing defense. Varner blew him up with some solid straights. Cerrone dropped him with a solid jab.

Unless he establishes some effective kick work early, I think Edson gets put down. I don't see him being able to control the range consistently enough to avoid eating a big punch against a guy like GGG, who will look to pressure and get inside constantly.
