Any news on the weight? If it's at 160 interesting because canelo just fought at 175. Knowing canelo he will try and ask for 165 or something to try and weight bully ggg.

And idk about street fighting but he would do perfectly well in the ufc. UFC is known for majority decisions and split decisions and weird card's. Close enough Canelo would shine.

    No:

“If you don’t want to fight a fighter, think it’s not your style, just say that,” Ward said on the video. “The truth is, they never wanted the fight. The reality is we offered him a fight six, seven months ago, before we knew he had a pay-per-view coming up ... 50%. He turned it down in five minutes. The short and long of it is they never wanted the fight.”

"Weight bully"...that's so ridiculous. You think GGG's been a natural 160 his whole life? Canelo fought at 140.

He could...it wouldn't be smart, but he could. Look at BHOP...he was able to make 160 for years because he was an avid runner. He had no problem jumping to 170/175 (at an old age) and beat the likes of Pavlik and Tarver with ease.

If you want to think of boxing purely as a business, then yes it was wise for GGG to not fight bigger guys...he would have gotten exposed early. Some athletes actually want to challenge themselves...did RJJ have to jump to HW and fight Ruiz? No.

I dont consider trying unify the middleweight straps strictly a buisness move. That's challenging and legacy right there. Going up and down in weight is also what help sully RJJ's career too.

They offered on a email, never an in person offer and not an offer that got all the way to the network execs. Like the offer Ward said no to. And the offered Ward gave was conveniently timed after an announcement of a fight that would make GGG the mandatory to face Canelo? The biggest payday in boxing and at worst the equivalent of Andre Ward P4P wise.

I'm glad Ward found a way 2 years later to conveniently time an email to make it seem like he wasn't ducking.

Dude, Chris Bird dropped like 35+ pounds to fight at 175 after being a heavyweight for a long time. Anybody can run off a lot of weight. Again, I said it would be a dumb thing to do but it is possible.

    1) Last time I checked Byrd and Canelo were two different persons

    2) 140 and 175 are two different things. When a guy had a low fat percentage at 154 in his early/mid 20s, chances are he'd look like a scarecrow at 140 in his early/mid 20s... Today at 30 I'm not sure he'd come out alive out of a boxing match if he cut so much weight.

Dumbest boxing comment of the year so far... Maybe even dumbest sports related comment.

You realize how different those are?

Do the math on percentage of body weight that is on both men and ask yourself if that makes any sense
