Canelo being sued for 9 million

Why is it a bad matchup for him? Bad matchups for Canelo are guys with elite footwork and defense. You think someone who will stand directly in front of him is bad matchup?

OR

Why is it a bad matchup for him? Bad matchups for GGG are guys with elite footwork and defense. You think someone who will stand directly in front of him is bad matchup?

Makes more sense when you flip the script.

He can beat Canelo, sure. Dont think he will.

Canelo has fast hands but can be hit due to his stance and movement . Great combos and sound Iq

GGG hits hard moves well and has a lethal jab which Canelo is very susceptible to it

Also if Canelo is hurt he doesn't seem he is willing to tie up instead just fight it out which will be a big mistake against a bigger puncher

Of course he wont since Canelo will probably vacate .

Ya, Canelo has a rich history of ducking guys right. Mayweather, Lara, Cotto.

And Golovkin's chin is wide open, as is his body. Let Canelo tee off like others have and see how that works out.

I hope you are right

Yeah, but we saw what happened when Golovkin decided not to be hit. GGG landed over 50% of his punches and Lemieux only landed 27%.

GGG wouldn't let Canelo tee off, and Canelo wouldn't let GGG tee off. It'd end up being a heavy-handed boxing match, not a slugfest.

Canelo is more talented than Lemi.

Could be.

No , but he has made it clear that he wont be moving up to 160 anytime soon and Golovkin wont entertain the idea of a catchweight , so the fight will probably not happen .

Also, nobody in their right mind would duck big money fights like Cotto and Mayweather , his two biggest paydays to date . Lara and Trout were huge risks though .

He will take a catch weight because its the only big $ fight for him. Golovkin got a dose of reality of his "star status" with his PPV.

I don't even think he can physically make the weight .
Somebody on boxingscene posted some weight stats from his amateur days , and the last time he weighed around 155 was in 2001 .

Yet he said hed fight at 154?

That was probably about as real as their talk of moving up to 168 :icon_lol: . or Maybe he would've killed himself for a once in lifetime Mayweather payday but doesn't think it's worth it for Canelo since he's the mandatory challenger for his belt .

i'd like them to make a compromise and meet halfway at 158 /157.5 .

Big Canelo fan but I dont like champs holding belts to catch weights.

Too much politics in boxing.

GGG shouldn't have to and fuck Canelo if he demands Golovkin shrink down to GGG. I get that they probably don't want Canelos first fight at 160 to be with Golovkin but he has the lineal title and GGG has waited long enough.

Perks of the A-side.

Depends if your classing 2 years as 'anytime soon'. He's said he'll be moving up within that time period.

Canelo also took the Paul Williams fight, who despite have lost a few times was still a guy no one wanted to face for obvious reasons. He clearly isn't scared of anybody, he's sparred GGG a lot and knows what he has in front of him,.

Canelo should not go to 160 and fight GGG if he doesn't want to. Even if he struggles to make that weight and comes in on fight nights huge. What weight someone fights at is their own choice. That's obvious. At the same time though he has no business at all trying to hold on to the 160 pound belt while avoiding the 160 pound belt mandatory GGG who already stepped aside and allowed the Cotto/Canelo fight to happen for the belt.

Canelo needs to drop the belt or get stripped and go about his business. GGG should fight someone else for the vacant belt as soon as possible.

Canelo not wanting to go up and GGG not wanting to go down are the same things basically. The only difference is that 160 pound belt that the 155 pound fighter has no business keeping.
