What a fucking treat of a fight these two guys provided us with!

I dont get all the criticism that Conor is getting in regards to his performance and him being overrated.

I think he performed beautifully (watched the fight 5 times already).

He just did not have what it took this time around to keep up the same pace and take it all the way.

And as for Diaz, beautiful killer instinct after catching Conor.

Anyways, i enjoyed this fight greatly and would love to see them fight again at 155.

P.S. The thing i want us to agree on is that this was a great fucking fight.

Conor gets most of the hate because of his fans not because him as a fighter.

What an amazing night

To be fair, he gets quite a lot of hate because of him as a PROMOTER / PERSON. But I agree, it's mostly the fans. And if anyone hates the way McGregor fights...Well, that's just weird. They guy's excellent entertainment in the cage, and it was a very good fight.

McGregor should drop the belt and start from scratch with somebody like Pettis to earn some respect from more hardcore fans. I personally like him but it isn't hard to see why he doesn't get respect for being a champion that doesn't defend the belt.

He just set the bar really high with all the trash talk and one punching his opponent out in the first round. If you don't deliver you get alot of hate. Most of his fans are just attracted to his persona and his trash talk around the fight.

Anway the dude has poor wrestling defense and no ground game, me and most people on this forum noticed that. Even if he's the superiour striking tagging everyone he can still easily be wrestle fucked and subbed.

i don't give a fuck about respecting or disrespecting fighters , i just rate their performance and thats it.

It's natural for people to think that McGregor was exposed a little, as he was less proven than a lot of guys with his status (within his division, in p4p terms, and in terms of fame) so you'd expect that new information would move the needle more.

Going into the fight, it was possible that McGregor was the legit GOAT and also possible that he was a like a Romero-level fighter (near the top of his division but not a p4p top guy). Contrast that with, say, Aldo going into his fight with McGregor. We knew--win, lose, or draw--that Aldo was one of the all-time greats, and nothing that happened in the fight would cause us to really re-evaluate that.

Absolutely, he still have some good fights in, he is always exciting as hell and his fights with Edgar and rematch will Aldo are going to be great fights

I agree but they shouldn't put him against wrestlers or good grapplers. it would be boring and he would get grapplefucked.

No need for a rematch. We have enough pointless rematches.

Indeed it was a great fight, considering Conor was winning the first round and Nate coming back strong and finish him in a great way

This hit the nail on the head.

The expectations were just insanely high.

I guess he is overrated from the point of view of not KOing Diaz within 1 round ;).

Agreed awesome fight! Mcgazelle eating crow was a dream come true. So many accounts deleted now too lmao

That fight was a fucking war.

Conor hit Diaz with everything but the kitchen sink in the first.

Diaz is an absolute warrior. Took everything McG threw, and walked right through it.

These dudes went all out in a toe-to-toe scrap.

Any fan complaining about either guy after that fight needs to give it a rest. Both dudes are really fun to watch, and are a MMA fan's true fighter.

Just want to quote this post for mother fucking truth.

What dont you get?

When a guy tells you he's a god, he's gonna hold 3 belts, he can predict the round he will finish his opponent, everyone else is stuck in the mud, etc etc... then loses to a fringe top 10 LW who's coming in on a week's notice, he'd bound to get flamed.
