Can Ryan Hall beat Max Holloway?

He would get clocked in the head non stop like CTE-CITY.

Hall is not athletic enough. He had a very hard time locking in a sub against Elkins because Elkins in on the sturdier side.

lol. That's for sure. He became one of the most dominant champs of all time. 9 fight win streak at 145?

Where is Conor now? lol.

Put your stupidity on a tee for me next time.

Conor is being the double champ goat FW making money in the millions and max is getting spanked by dustin (the guy conor put in a coma)

Max needs to retire. he's done.

He lost to the British dude on Tuf. So my answer is Fuck No. But he is risky for Anyone. He will continue to struggle to get fights.

money in the millions?? Wowzers. Dustin would wear out and knock Conor the fuck out or break his arm. They both murder Conor right now.

Max is champ right now, Conor hasn't been champ in 3 years. 3 drunken, coke-snorting, bridge-burning, bus-attacking, rapey 3 years.

I watched this vid by Luke Thomas and was super impressed to say the least. Seems like he could be a potential title contender. I think his style will make it hard for Max to do what Max does well.

if ryan doesn't get you with his leg lock or heel hook, his standup is mediocre at best...but he has guys so worried about this and his weird takedowns, rolls, etc. his standup can sometimes be effective...but I think any top ranked guy is going to eat him for lunch...

No, because he lacks the wrestling to get the fight to the ground. Same issue as Ortega, except with worse striking.

ya, those rolling attacks can only work if they get you off guard..but guys will be training for that now..

Hall can fck off.
I don't mind fighters like Maia who at least get their opponent on the ground. Hall just drops there and hopes you'll follow him down. Boring as fck.

ya, his style was driving me a bit nuts. all he does are those rolling takedown attempts at the legs..if those don't work, he's forced to stand back up...he doesn't clinch..doesn't go for any double or single leg takedowns...he'd probably be more effective if he did.

He's been shut down before. I guess not too many people watched his TUF season.

Of course he has a chance...on the ground.

he doesn't seem to know any other submissions, besides the ankle lock or heel hook. or know how to even take a guy down...

Better BJJ but less dangerous (e.g. risk of permanent damage) than Imanari on the ground. Because he's more of a gentleman.

And he has developed some nice defensive kicks.

And he showed a lot last weekend. Color me impressed.

But let's slow the roll down, TS. Even compared to a lower top 10 opponent, a Yair fight would be fun (in fact, we should start lobbying for this now), but a Jeremy Stephens or Josh Emmett fight might end with a highlight reel hospital visit for Mr Hall.

after fighting dustin, Max is going to tear through evryone in FW

As mma fans, how you cant appreciate a BJJ specialist tryna survive in top level mma is beyond me

Probably not.

He’s just a cool dude and he has a fan base from his BJJ Instructional days.

Sure he could.... wouldn’t bet on it

Hall reminds of the UFC in its infancy where fighters were exceptional at one style. I like it though he'll probably need to evolve his game more if he ever wants to be a contender for the belt.
