Can Reyes Beat Jones?

just another nameless soul in the skeleton king's army

Maybe... Just maybe... After Cormier and motivated Gustafsson (from Jones vs Gus 1) - and although Santos done a good job, respect - yes, Reyes is the most dangerous guy he will ever fought.

Even thinking Jones will indoctrinate him, I think Reyes has a chance. IF the fight doesn't go to the ground (I think I said the same thing of Santos at that time, I don't remember). We'll see.

Reyes getting a TS speaks volumes on how shallow LHW is right now.

So Dom is undefeated at LHW, that's impressive enough to get a TS, right?

Flashback to 2007 - UFC 70:
Machida (9-0) vs Heath (9-0) neither remotely close to a TS

Flashback to 2007 - UFC 78:
Evans (10-0) vs Ping (14-0) neither remotely close to a TS

Flashback to 2009 - UFC 94:
Machida (13-0) vs T.Silva (13-0) wasn't supposed to be a title eliminator

Machida only got a TS after that win because:
- it was a spectacular KO
- Page didn't take the TS offered to him

Lower in the same card you had Bones himself riding 8-0 nowhere near a TS.

My point is that being an undefeated LHW meant very little between 2007-2009.

You shouldn't ask if its possible you should ask if it's probable. It's definitely possible for Reyes to win by KO considering that's his break and butter. But is it probable or likely? Nope.
