Can I just say that WSOF has two of the nastier leg kickers in the game today?

I mean seriously. Gaethje is at 3 leg kick TKOs, Marlon has 1 officially but has dominated at least 2 other fights with his leg kicks.

Bellator's Douglas Lima has nasty ones as well, 2 leg kick TKOs to his name.

i said two years ago that gaethje was the best leg kicker in mma and people laughed. there's fucking lead in his shins.

I still don't understand how lawlers leg didnt fall off after the leg kicks that No mercy gave him before being KO'D.

Beautiful work by Gaethje. Incredible power for a 155lb fighter. Normally if you see a 1st round TKO from low kicks its in a Heavyweight fight and even that is rare. To see a LW fight end in the 1st from basically 3 kicks is freakish. Perfect technique.

Yea. Barbosa has a few at 155, but they were all more drawn out than what Gaethje has done.

The way Gaethje turns his hips over into his kicks is beautiful to watch. You can tell when they land that they hurt like hell.

Moraes, too. He landed about five kicks over the course of ~70 seconds, and Barajas was done.
Barboza's quickest leg kick TKO was pre-UFC and took about 3 min iirc.

He said after the fight he doesn't even practice his low kicks. Is that bullshit? I know he kicks hard and his technique looks okay to me but is it really possible he doesn't drill them at all? Does he just have Ricardo Arona genes for naturally hard low kicks?

That's probably bull. If you're a fighter how do you not drill kicks? I don't buy that. Maybe he doesn't focus specifically on them but he's definitely at least throwing them in practice. They probably do come natural to him though. Unless they come from a MT background, a lot of guys look incredibly awkward throwing leg kicks but then some it just seems to come natural. I think Gaethje is one of those. He throws damn near his entire body into those leg kicks. He torques his entire body into them, they generate so much power.

He trains them definitely, just probably doesn't focus on them; mix his natural power there with good timing and consistent placement, and he's got some tree-choppers going on.

Anyone have a link to highlights? I'd like to see those all natural leg kicks he's been wrecking dudes with.

Gaethje won't be UFC champ but goddamn I wanna see him vs some top guys. Gaethje vs Tony Ferguson or Edson Barboza ...
