I recently started Muay Thai and BBJ about a month ago. I've found that I really love it; I go about 2-3 nights/week.
That being said, regardless if I can go pro or not, I will still continue training, as I really enjoy it. Not gonna lie, I'd be a bit disappointed lol
To sum it up, I'm a 22 year old female college student, and what worries me is not so much my age, though sometimes I feel like it's a little tiny bit old, it's my size.
I'm 4'11, close to 5'0, and weight about 100 lbs. I haven't measured myself, but from what I've been told, I've got short legs and a bit of a longer torso. I'm the only female in my BJJ class, so I haven't had a chance to practice with another girl, and 4/5 of the females I've met at Muay Thai were just starting out as well. I was planning on maybe visiting a different gym, as there are more women at the other location and seeing if I can roll with them from time to time.
The only other prior training I've had was karate about 11 years ago, so practically starting out with nothing.
Is it likely that I still have potential to go pro? And what should I focus more with my body type, types of punches/kicks, style, etc. Any tips on techniques I should focus more on in either MT or BJJ? I'll practice everything, but I want to know what to stress more.
Thanks so much everyone, I appreciate it.
