Well, Conor did bring some changes towards UFC all these years, like how a lot of fans started enjoying watching the lighter weight match up.
We saw how HW & LHW dominate the whole competition during the early days, but now it doesn't matter anymore as even a FW title match involving Conor can be stack higher than a MW title match.
Is there a chance for HW to rise back as the top dog for UFC? I mean in terms of popularity and earning for them.
    Perhaps, any suggestion for it?

Needs a dynamic fighter or two.

Someone who grabs peoples attention and knows how to sell fights, and more importantly, put on super exciting fights.

It can, they just need to make a play for new talent. HW needs fresh blood badly.

    Needs more young talent.

Isn't the average top 10 HW age something like 36?

HW was and is terrible. Always very weak. That's it's problem.

Why would they sign him? He isn't going to sell a lot of PPVs.

Most importantly, they need one guy that can hold the belt for more than 4 fights, so they can start to promote him as the "baddest man on the planet".

JDS had the chance to be a popular fighter, unfortunately Cain was also in the division. I don't see it happening for anyone at the moment. If Jones hadn't self-destructed he'd be selling huge ppvs. Blame him. I like DC but his style and personality aren't very marketable.

If fighters start coming into HW from any place other than the NCAA or BJJ Tourneys, then yes they can.
We need some more strikers in the HW division, not just dudes with heavy hands and suspect gas tanks.
I'd like to see more cross-over from K1 and even see some legit boxers make the switch.

I've been saying for years the UFC needs new hw blood and it will be rocking again. Sign the best 10 hw not in the ufc. Sure a bunch will wash out but if they can get 2-3 legit new HWs it would put the division in a great place.

They are trying by signing every athletic dude over 210 who knows how to throw a punch.
So maybe in two or three years.

Not enough to put the HWs back on top, especially when you're getting KO'd multiple times by a LHW can.

USADA and the culture of weight cutting will make it difficult to find > 185 lbs athletes who are top notch.

    It'll take a charismatic, english-speaking star on a crazy win-streak, but yeah, it's possible.

Fabricio v Fedor II would sell. A rematch with BF would also do well. Lots of matches to be made with Fedor in the HW picture.

What? UFC was considered inferior to Pride in HW, and was about the same or less than Strikeforce in HW. It's always been one of their weakest, least deep divisions.
