Can fighting mess you up?

Seriously, my boxing teacher is a good teacher but he looks half-braindead. It is like he is perpetually stoned. I think he was a former boxer. Is it common? Or maybe he is just this way naturally.

no getting hit over and over in the head is good for you. It cleans out the cob webs and keeps you very alert. Boxing is probably the best sport for your health next to base jumping.

I used to train boxing under some dude who looked and acted exactly the same and had a seriosly fucked up lazy eye .

That B.A.S.E. jumping reference was fuckin funny...

but seriously, yes getting blunt trauma to the head over and over again will probably eventually add up to you looking slightly permastoned. Personally, I think the permastoned look is cool

does he slur his speech, thats always a good indicator if a person has had one to many knocks on the melon.

you all saw the rocky series didn't you? LOL no seriously, getting hit over and over in the head can so that. solution: don't get hit. ;)

yeh fighting will fuck you up, so will football and any other sport, if u fight well you'll be fine, if your shit then youl get fucked up

Yes it will fuck you up, even if you are good. There is the potential for athritus from striking (synonimous with MT) and if like me you have done like 5000 rounds of sparring I am pretty sure that this has not made me more intelligent........ I am late 20's at moment and still feel sharp and have suffered from no problems, as for the future who knows!>?

Where do you train because your teacher sounds like one of my old trainer's. Just give an area if you don't want to say and I will attempt some deduction.....

Damn, I thought you would have been banned or commited suicide, or a combination of the two. No fighting can't mess you up, infact the more shots you take to the face the smarter and handsomer you become, try it!

I think the shots that really do the damage are the ones in actual fights, or sparring simulating a fight (100%).

It happened to Rocky, it can happen to you.

It seems like a lot of boxers are like that. Watch some of the interviews of boxers on ESPN. Especially the heavyweights.
