Can Darren Till cut 12lbs in 2 days?

As is already said, 12 lbs is not a bad final cut, assuming he is at normal depletion level entering the last 24 hours. If he's 25 lbs over it will be tough. If he's already depleted as hell his liver will have a hard time. If, if, if. The UFC dangled this opportunity in his face and the UFC has had people overseeing Till's process this time. If he goes into renal failure they are at least partially to blame.

This. 12 pounds ain’t shit, but I’m not convinced it’s really just 12 pounds.

Yah... I’ve seen guys cut 12-14 in 24 hours.

Also agree... wouldn’t be surprised if he’s just wanting to stamp out any chance if weight cutting talks from media... if he’s done everything right and has even 15-16 pounds to cut, he SHOULD be ok... regardless it’s a big cut for him and as we’ve seen when cutting that kind of weight.. shit happens.

It's embarrassing seeing guys put their bodies through this much hell to just to have a size advantage.
If you had a chance to quadruple your salary by cutting weight one to three times a year you would do it

Kek wtf

If Chael is right and he started cutting water two weeks ago, he's probably not going to make it. If he hasn't started cutting water yet, he'll probably be fine.

If Till makes weight he’s going to get outclassed by Woodley.

Only way he wins this is if he stops his weight cut short like he did vs Wonderboy.
I disagree with current set up; seems like there isn’t enough of a consequence to a fighter stopping early and only losing part of their income. I’d think with the current trend of fighters missing weight and winning, climbing rankings needs to be stopped.

I hope he makes weight, and we get a good fight.. But I'm feeling controversial.

This guy is literally killing himself to get a physical advantage over his opponent. Is there anything more pathetic and cowardly?
although I disagree with your keyboard warrior, who is addicted to porn calling anybody a coward...
I will say this, fighters are starting to realize that moving up in weight is usually the best move...
Believe it or not the next weight class up is always going to be easier then going down.. because the skill level increases greatly when you lower the weight class (except from BW-Fly) 205 is more talent stacked then 265, Middleweight is way tougher then LHW, WW is way better then MW, Lightweight destroys WW, and 145 is home of the the best technically sound weight class

Sadly, you hear horror stories of guys cutting 12lbs within 10 hours or so.

He'll make it. It won't be pretty, but he'll make it.
Actually depends on how much he has already cut.

at 28 seconds he says hes 182 pounds as of this morning so he has exactly 2 days left for the weigh ins, can he do it?

I wouldn't trust the guy, he could be exagarating to look tougher and prove everyone wrong or something.

Its certainly doable, the real question is what impact it will have on him come fight night, especially if Woodley is smart & pushes the pace with a heavy wrestling based attack. Even if Till if stuffing takedowns its going to exhaust him with such a ridiculous cut.

You said
"it was embarrassing seeing guys put their bodies through this much hell to just to have a size advantage."

My rebuke
I disagree as weight cutting is part of the sport. Did you wrestle in high school or watch HOFers Sugar Ray, Hagler, Hearns, Duran, Holyfield box in multiple weight classes? If so so, you would understand that weight cutting is a part of combat sports. Not embarrassing at all.

It is when you cut as much as Darren is cutting and put your body and your mind through complete hell doing it. It's weird you continue to miss the point so bad.

Repeating "it's part of the sport" over and over again doesn't make it any less shameful.

Best case scenario for the future of the sport, he misses weight then goes out there and KTFO Woodley. This bullshit of rewarding fighters for missing weight has to stop and I think it'll take a cluster fuck of epic proportion to make the UFC finally wise up to it.

I guess I'm just confused on what is shameful. What is the % that you can cut weight but not have it be shameful? Can you cut 10 lbs....is this OK, is 15 lbs to much? Or, is it shameful to cut any weight?

IMO - there is no shame in cutting weight if you have strength and energy to compete. I think you would understand this if you wrestled.

When the weight cut is hard on you and you're constantly putting yourself through hell to make it, then yes, it's shameful and absurd. Till is one of the biggest weight cutters in the sport, thus he's a prime example to hold to scrutiny.

How would cutting weight one to three times a year quadruple my salary?
That's not the point. The point is that's why these guys do it, to increase pay. If you had to kill yourself and cut weight 3x a year for any job nearly everyone would attempt it, so there is really no question why they do it

Answer my question, son. How does cutting weight increase someone's pay?
