As above. I'm just wondering if the ufc can actually sue Conor for pulling out of the fight just because he felt like retiring.

I was a huge Conor fan. Until yesterday.

No, you can't force someone to fight, the only thing his contract restricts him from doing is fighting for another org.

I don't think he'd signed the bout agreement, so I highly doubt it.

The UFC were the ones who fucking pulled him out of the fight. Conor refused to do media so they pulled him.

That made Conor upset so he decided to go on Twitter and cry retirement. He'll be back.

He does have a valid reason: he's retired

Can your employer sue you for retiring?

Of course, unless they retire of course.

Yes if I have already signed a contract and agreed to work on one of the most important days/events of the company I work for.

That was my misconception. I thought the rematch between Conor and Nate was set in stone/signed.

You can sue anybody for anything, man. This is the U.S.

Why do you guys start threads without googling what the fuck you're talking about?

Yea. If he had, Nevada can fuck him over, but without a bout agreement, there's not really anything the UFC can do except hold onto his contract.

Did he borrow a time machine to do this?

Connor did not pull out. He was pulled from the card. Dana said those words himself. There will be no lawsuit.

Depends on the employer I suppose. In the military, if you want to retire, you have to submit a retirement packet and go through an extensive process. You can't just say, "Catch ya's later" and stop showing up.

Just means he won't get paid and he can't fight with another organization. In sports, coaches breach their contracts constantly. Could the UFC take this to court, probably..but Conor just turnaround and say he wasn't fit to fight and the case is closed.

This. I thought how Conor handled his retirement was really irresponsible.

You don't just go catch yalls later and disappear.
