Can both fighters have shorts of the same color?

I ask this because i rarely see two fighters using the same color. Are there any rules regarding that?

As long as the fighters are of different colour then it's ok.

Otherwise they have to wear different colour shorts.

Typically theres enough difference so they can still describe the fighters in the beginning to us. i know this doesnt answer your question, but theres usually at least differences in the color of the sponsor patches

Yes its allowed. I remember once there was a black guy fighting a white guy and they both had black shorts with grey trim. When goldburg described them at the start of the fight he made in depth comments about how the trim of the one guys shorts differed from the others.

Yeah I've seen it done before, where the fighters wear the same color shorts.

For me, I've always wondered why don't they just go by the gloves/corner? I mean if GSP is in blue gloves fighting in blue corner, why not just put at the bottom GSP is blue? That way it doesn't matter what shorts they put on. Strikeforce used to do this, I think...

Lol please say which fight. Wanna hear this one. I can imagine the awkardness, why the hell wouldn't he just say x is the black guy and y is the white guy? That would be a lot easier than describing the shorts.

Yeah, it happened recently, I can't remember which fight but that Short color popup, at the corner of the screen was like:

Fighter A: Black
Fighter B: Black
