Can BJ Penn be considered one of the hardest P4P hitters in MMA history?

He's got that thick dense islander bone structure - evident by his hands of stone and chin of titanium. That's why he was never able to have amazing cardio and probably why he hated training.

Some people in the gym are just naturally "heavy" no matter the weight class. People like Mark Hunt, BJ, Figgy, Rumble, JDS etc. They're incredibly durable as well as hard hitting but cardio isn't normally they're strong suit

Watching him fight, I always felt like he hit really hard

No, he looked like a turtleman. Dropping down to 145 turned BJ Penn into a turtleman, and he would looked like a turtleman even if he did it in his prime.
Dropping to 145 kind of solidified how mediocre Dolce was at helping guys cut weight. BJ comes in with a solid amount of bodyfat (for an athlete) and still looks overdrawn. I'd be surprised if Dolce didn't just toss him a handful of diuretics, spike his sodium, and just bloat on water leading up to fight week.
