Damn!...How many R names can their be? They have such a huge family.

Has any member ever explained it?

They like "R's"

Not like they named any kids "Rooker" or "Romo" yet.

I read an article with Rorion Gracie way back in the 90's, saying the family believed that names starting with the letter R carried mystical powers.

It's probably fun for them. Parents do "cute" things with naming children sometimes to make them match

Plus the Gracie name is a brand so it helps with branding, selling their name and products

helio explains it in a playboy interview:

PLAYBOY: Why do all of your children's name begin with the letter "R"? (Rorion, 50; Relson, 48, Rickson, 42, Rolker, 36, Royler, 35, Royce, 34, Rherika, 32; Robin, 29; Ricci, 23).

HELIO: Because "R" is a strong letter. It is the most powerful letter. Which would you think is stronger, "Orion" or "Rorion"? "Rorion" of course, I think the same as my brother Carlos. His children have names that begin with "R", "C", and "K".

More importantly, why can they not pronounce their R's?

If Roger Gracie buys a Rolls Royce, how does he pronounce it?
