Nieky Holzken is a former Glory Kickboxing champion who's already past his prime. One thing in special about Dutch Kickboxers is that they have very little head movement, they just block it all. And Nieky especially is a aggravated case of that, the guy never slip or roll a punch in his entire career. And not mentioning being 3 inches shorter too.

And to think that people where giving smith a chance against Canelo...

The more you dig into these "top boxers" resumees the more shit and cans you find.

Nobody in their right minds gave Smith a chance against Canelo. He also pretty clearly lost to John Ryder (except on the scorecards).

Next up, a Dominican club fighter.

I don't see the point here. Holzken is legit solid, so it was a great win for Callum Smith. As it was for Canelo later. Stoppages are not that important, a simple W is what matters.

Callum Smith should've done better with him, but also it wasn't that bad a performance. Holzken is decent and Callum Smith is not special at all.

Ah, I see. So the thread isn't actually about Callum Smith. Got it.

People were high on Smith because he finished Groves in pretty good fashion. That was the name that carried him into the Canelo fight.

Thanks for this brand new information.

That fight was part of a tournament and George Groves who he fought after was a good win.
