Local authorities are calling for classes on Islam to be brought in at schools across the country after a radicalized Muslim youth attacked passengers on a train with an axe on Monday.

The head of the Evangelical Church in Germany (EKD), Heinrich Bedford-Strohm, said that religious education was the best way to immunize Muslim youths against the dangers of Islamist fundamentalism. He also said he was in favour of Muslim religious associations taking over responsibility for providing this education, just as churches are responsible for religious education about Christianity.

The problem with this is that all religions are NOT equal. Islam is inherently violent, whereas the New Testament Christianity isn't . Muhammed is insisted as the perfect example of a human being and the Quran the literal word of god and any attempt to modify or argue against this is blasphemy. The Quran, according its believers, is immutable and timeless and the solution for mankind.

Bending over and acquiescing to Muslims is the worst kind of solution because they will climb all over you and demand you keep giving into them . Having watched hours and hours of interviews and public discussions involving Muslim leaders and intellectuals in Europe , my conclusion is that major Muslim organizations and its spokesman are not going to solve anything, they are part of the problem because they keep tap dancing around the problem loathe to admit that groups like ISIS and AQ are indeed accurately following the Quran and the example set by Muhammed.

Just as Europeans , Germans , Americans had to face up to their history and admit to their atrocities , slavery, colonialism etc.., so to Muslims must admit the nature of the Quran and the warmongering history of Islamic empires.

Well no, we should ban Christians from having anything to do with the education in Germany in the first place. And just offer more history classes.

The guy from the EDK is just desperately trying to hang on to his dying religion by trying to go into bed with the Muslims.
He thinks if they can somehow justify religious education in schools by saying it helps prevent terror attack, they can keep recruiting young children for their certain form of delusion in our public schools.
Because more and more people want all religious education banned in Germany as we become more and more atheists.

How do we stop the imams from teaching them what the religion is really about though?

My interpretation of this is that he believes, like many people, that Muslims who commit jihad are extremists not following their religion properly. Thus he thinks that "informing" them about Islam will show them the error of their ways, not realizing that the Quran is chock full of passages calling for the killing and terrorizing of nonbelievers and that "extremists" are the ones following the religion properly.

The other possibility is that he wants Muslims to be taught a softened, declawed and technically incorrect version of their own religion by the state. Probably not very useful since their parents, community, mosque, etc, are going to teach them the real version anyway.

Germany is fucked up. Whatever happened to being secular? Teaching religion of any kind in school should be illegal.
